And if they accidentally kill/maim someone besides themselves drunk driving or whatever, they’ll get all weepy on camera and you know there will be some percentage of the population - no matter how small - that sympathizes with them, saying “insert-celebrity-name-here” is the real victim.

You’re probably not, but that doesn’t mean you have any idea how the courts work. In the majority of cases, there would be no additional penalty at all. No jail, no community service, no fine. It’s like most of you guys think SWAT gets sent in and you go directly to jail to finish out your sentence. That’s not how it works.
Diva, however, does have a point about the sentence being overridden.
I think it’s more beneficial to get mad at the system that lets a Paris Hilton get away with this than to get mad at her for benefiting from that system. Getting mad at her just gives her more of what she craves – attention.
What she was in for anyway? All I heard was that she was going to prison but they never said why. Was it a car accident or unpaid tickets..or what.

wow … I think I actually feel bad for her now. Her lawyers got her out of jail early and in the process screwed her over big time to this new sentence. I still doubt she’ll serve the full 45 days … probably a little over 20 or so.

Thank God for good judges.
If you read the CNN article, it’s clear that Hilton was let go because she was rich and famous. No judge approved her release and the psychiatrist who diagnosed her was from the private sector. Meaning someone the Hilton family hired.

I really don’t care for her. And yes some of her antics are entertaining but when it starts to interfere with whole segments of the sports talk radio shows I listen to we gotta fucking stop now.
