Nip/Tuck Season Three

I got a wierd vibe from the Kimber scene also. I immediately thought the Carver had attacked, but agree that it does not fit with his/her MO.

I thought the cake tasting was funny, but totally out of character for Christian and Sean. Both of them were pretty disturbed when Quentin tried to hit on them. The mere thought that anyone could think them gay made each of them, Christian in particular, furious.

Gina was constant hilarity for me. She plays “bitch” like no other. I give it to the actress who plays her, I was really touched by her attempt to comfort Kimber’s pre-wedding jitters.

Matt… God, that kid is really starting to annoy the fuck out of me. I understand his life has been turned upside down, but he is completely looney toons. He falls for anyone who gives him the least bit of attention. I don’t remember him being so insecure in previous seasons. Falling for a hot tranny is one thing, but a Nazi… I mean, a “Purist”? Come on! He’s smarter than that.

Nip/Tuck Public Service Announcement:

It’s 10:00 p.m. Do you know where your daughter is?

We didn’t see Kimber after that, so maybe the Carver got her and left the message him/herself?

I too got a “Carver” vibe from Kimber’s cold feet at the wedding.

This was a good episode, though I am also frustrated with Matt’s storyline.

getting hit on by someone that’s gay and having someone think that you’re gay are two totally different thing’s. it wasn’t out of character at all for christian and sean to play along with that. they found it funny so they just fucked around in a harmless matter.

The cake tasting was definitely a non-threatening situation, but I still find it out of character for Christian. His ego’s too big to even let someone think that he’s gay.

I didn’t think it was too far out there. He’s with Sean, he’s drunk… he’s seeking a fun moment with an old friend.

I agree that it was certainly in character for both of them. Especially with all the serious shit that’s gone down between them lately, it was just a funny situation that they played along with. No harm in it.

I also think that Carver definitely has Kimber.

Bleak. Where did the fun days go? Next week doesn’t look any better.

Hmm… wasn’t the Carver introduced in the episode directly following Liz’s attempt to conceive a child?

Jeez, this episode was hard to watch.

KIMBER!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!! I get that the Carver would want to go after Kimber --she is the epitome of beauty after all and her face was plastered all over Miami’s society pages – but the Carver doesn’t kill his/her victims (with the exception of the faker). So why now? What does s/he have to gain by carving Kimber if she was just going to be killed anyway? This is obviously a revenge killing to get back at Christian, but I feel like the Carver would want credit for his/her work. It seems odd that s/he would have Kimber write that note and lead Christian to believe she ran away.

Speaking of Christian, I wanted the old Christian back, but this was too much. I screamed at my TV when he told that lady to put a bag on her head and then I screamed again when she complied. Then when she said she enjoyed it at the end, I nearly threw my remote at the screen. I’ve seen some fucked up relationships, but my lord!

Matt and Nazi lady’s storyline has to end. I can’t believe Julia was cooking dinner for them while they’re fucking in the bedroom.

Although Quentin is an egomaniac, cokehead, I don’t think he deserved to get treated the way he did from Sean and Christian. I loved that he took a job with Julia and is direct competition with MacNamara/Troy. I wasn’t ready for Quenten to leave the show yet.

Although I never bought that Liz could be the Carver, they certainly make her seem like a candidate. I still think The Craver will end up being an inconsequential character.

I disagree. Best episode of the season.

I don’t think anyone said the episode was bad – just hard to watch. It was a pretty intense hour.

Does anyone know when the season finale is? I’m dying (ahem) to find out who the Carver is!!!

Good Episode. But to me the Kimber scene almost seemed like something Christian was daydreaming, not real. Like he couldn’t accept Kimbers reasoning and was making up something.

Well… I’m actually of the belief that Kimber is the Carver and that she has multiple personalities. And that perhaps “the carver” appeared, this time, to protect Kimber from doing something she was uncertain of ( or perhaps something she considered to be “bad” for her )… and also manifests as a way for her to deal with the high costs of being beautiful ( her being constantly cut would lead to the Carver cutting others to destroy? ). It would also partially explain the Carver’s fixation with Christian…

The way they shot the scene tonight, with Christian reading her letter, it left interpretation open as to whether or not that was the “reality” of Kimber’s situation, or if that was Christian imagining what had prompted Kimber to leave. Especially with that last quick-cut transition from Kimber back to Christian’s office… A kidnapping would make it “easier” for him to deal with ( not really, but somehow easier to believe that Kimber was kidnapped and her leaving wasn’t his - or her - fault ).

That’s just me, though…

ETA: Looks like Paul might share the same reading of that letter scene…

The Carver is not a chick geniuses, unless she’s wearing a muscle suit.

I’ve always thought the Carver is Quentin, the dude’s been a creep from the beginning. He also showed up at the right time, is gay, knows his way around anesthetics and knives, and seems to want to fuck the business up. He’s also a proven liar, did I mention he’s creepy?

The one reason I don’t think it’s him is because it’s too goddamned obvious, and the writing couldn’t be that contrived… or could it?

That’s the major reason I’m thinking it’s NOT Quentin. It is just too obvious and would wrap that storyline up too handily.

If I can’t go with my first choice of Kimber ( which I still think is possible, sue me… ), then I’d have to go with Matt, just because I think this has to have messy emotional repercussions somewhere down the road.

I just think Kimber does have reason to manifest “the Carver”, that she went after Kit ( who pretty much put the smackdown on Kimber when she went to the police station ), she’s fixated on beauty, and she is fixated on Christian.

She’s always been slightly unstable and the fact that Christian traded her for a pretty, shiny car ( one beautiful OBJECT for another ) must still be felt from time to time.

Also, the person’s wearing a voice modulator, why not some extra padding to disguise the body shape?

Not saying it’s right or that Kimber is the “perfect” choice, just pointing out that there are some reasons to believe she might be.

But, I’ve gone from Matt to Liz to Sean and Christian working as a team to Kimber… so, I’m not going to cry if I’m wrong.

That was one of the best episodes of the entire series. All the storylines were cooking with gas.

I was busting up when Sean was telling Julia about Quentin ("Here’s something that slipped through the cracks, some guys cock in your boyfriend’s ass!"Wink. There’s no way that Quentin is the Carver but even so he is turning into one of TV’s best villains, I really thought he was going to be one of the more sympathetic characters but he’s basically just a jerk, a damn entertaining jerk.

The Kimber/Carver scene was a bit odd but I don’t think it was a dream, this show is usually very clear when dream sequences are going on.

Possible Carver suspect: The male cop who has been investigating the Carver since last year. He was on last night’s show investigating the hate crimes and he had some kind of remark to Christian along the lines of “I didn’t think things like that happened to guys like you.” It just seemed out of character for that guy. He really has no motive to be the Carver but he is a minor character that has been around for a while. Just a thought.

Seriously, somebody alert John Walsh so that he can start looking for Sean’s daughter.

did i miss something? the carver didn’t kill her. he/she may but nothing happened.

haha i guess you felt this way because you’re a chick. i personally thought this was one of the greatest things ever to happen in the history of television. i couldn’t stop laughing. christian troy is up there with hugh hefner for greatest male hero’s!

are you crazy? the dude is trying to fuck sean’s ex wife and he was putting their client’s life in danger. would you want some cokehead performing surgery on you? i don’t think so.

not a bad theory. it’s certainly better then the “the carver is 5’10, weighs 163.567lbs, a voice that is manish with a female tint to it and don’t forget the ketchup stain that could’ve come from when julia made dinner earlier in the day so it must be matt!”

The Carver wasn’t fixated on Christian. The initial target was Sean (for fixing his work), and Christian only became a target once Sean was unavailable (since the police were watching him).

I don’t see a good explanation of why the Carver would kidnap Kimber from the chapel. This is a person who tries to make their attacks as easy as possible - waiting for the person to be alone and unsuspecting, drugging them, etc. Going into a full chapel and grabbing the bride seems completely out of character. If that’s what happened, it’s going to require a good explanation.

And I’m also not 100% sure the scene w/ the Carver and Kimber was real. It was only a couple episodes ago that we got a very vivid dream sequence of Sean imagining Anne Heche being killed. And Christian has been imagining Kimber’s face on people’s bodies. Also, like was mentioned, the Carver has wanted to be very public about his actions, so having Kimber write a note would be strange. Plus, I’m pretty sure someone who has had their mouth sliced open ear-to-ear could not possibly talk as easily as she did in that scene.

We should know for sure within 1-2 episodes. This was a woman with a couple of businesses. She could only be missing for so long before someone at her work would ask questions. Like, “Where’s my paycheck?”

I would have chosen Kimber as the Carver as well, if not for the fact that the person in that suit is clearly not a small woman with large breasts…

One thing I found odd: The cop mentions to Sean and Christian that the hate crimes may have been done by someone with access to their files. They say they’ll check their files, yet it isn’t mentioned again. Then when Matt’s girlfriend spouts off knowledge of the victim’s medical history (highly likely from those files) Sean doesn’t even seem to notice.

Well Sean confronted Matt and Ariel at Julia’s apartment and asked if they had anything to do with the hate crimes. I think he knows they did it and wanted them to confess, but got caught up in Julia letting them have sex and, of course, Quentin getting ass fucked by a patient.

plus he was trying to brush it off from the cop. he knew it was highly probable that matt was the culprit so he obviously didn’t want his son getting in shit.
