I thought the second season was better than the first season… and I loved the first one.

It was a sarcastic statement. Sarcastic. By saying ‘great’ I meant ‘really bad’. It didnt even seem as if the person doing the review really watched it. I really doubt he even watched the mini that set everything up.

B:A friend left his copy of the first season at my house a few days after the release.
C: His inflammatory behavior set aside, Devin’s a tough reviewer, and his giving something a thumbs up, particularly anything genre related, honestly piques my interest. So what?
What the fuck? Yeah, Devin’s a reviewer whose opinion I value, because he’s usually pretty smart. I don’t have to like somebody to take their opinion into account. I stayed away from the series because I was burned by shitty sci-fi TV shows in the past. But the continued praise from friends whose opinions I trust convinced me I should give it a shot, and then Devin’s well written critique of the show convinced me to buy it outright.

Can someone please tell me what the deal is with the way the season has been cut in half? I thought the Pegasus cliffhanger was end of season 2 but it’s not.

Mr Balmudo, I find it odd that someone would belittle others for acting on Devins positive review of the show.
I mean this is a site with a strong review slant, isn’t it? And generally if a reviewer you trust gives the thumbs up to something you are going to be curious, yes?
Not having a go, just curious as to why you find that worth commenting in a derogatory fashion about.
I watched the first season and the first three episodes of the second and stopped after that. It was very good in the beginning, then sort of went steadily down in quality. It didn’t get bad but it wasn’t good enough to keep watching.
And I hated everything that had to do with the Cylon living inside the Brit guy’s head. And they say Farscape is cheesy…
Five episodes into season 1 and I have to say that this is one of the finest TV series I’ve ever watched. That’s because it’s not the eye candy or the hardware or any such nonsense that hooked me but the drama. The look on Adama’s face when Starbuck tells him that she’s responsible for his son’s death is worth a thousand space battles.
I just watched the mini-series for the first time after reading how good the show is…Well I hope the show is as good because that was friggin’ awesome…
It has everything I would want from a TV show of it’s kind, tons of surprises, good acting, romance, action, good FX, great writing and one hell of a mean streak…BABY NECK SNAPPING…WTF?..
I’m stoked about catching up on the TV show…

There’s a different type fo direction though. The mini-series reminded me of something a b-movie jean-pierre jeunet might direct, whereas the tv show kind of looks like 24 with mostly handheld and shit.
I guess that could be attributed to the extra time spent on Caprica in the mini-series. Aboard galactica they kind of already had that more gritty stylistic tendency going.
The mini-series and series one arrived in the post today from Amazon. Should keep me occupied this weekend.
Even better, I’ve managed to steer clear of spoilers. I’ve no idea what it’s all about (other than where it follows the original series). Fantastic.

In the UK, we get this on Sky, and season 2 just finished about 2 weeks ago.
Loved it. Watched it since I looked in on the first ep of season 1 last year out of morbid curiosity, and found myself really enjoyiing it. Ironically enough, I havent watched the mini-series - will I be disappointed? Do I need to watch it?
Oh, and has season 3 started in the the US yet?
