I thought this was just okay. Good execution of a somewhat predictable plot. Kind of a filler episode that was worthy. But Lucy Lawless was good. And the Baltar stuff was funny, which is tough to do these days. Someone else like Baltar or Helo has to be a Cylon at this point.
This was a great episode, but what really got me going was the preview for the season finale:

Quick question, what’s the significance of the Pegasus story? I missed the last episode because I was busy but just wondering about that last little bit.
It was a two-part story in the original series with Lloyd Bridges as the legendary commander of a lost battlestar that the Galactica runs into. It was one of the cooler stories they did, and, at least as far as I’m concerned, it’s great to see the new show taking a crack at it.
I want to chime in with another “great episode.” The b-plot was nice and well done, even if the new stealth ship was built awfully fast. And the a-plot was cool, esp with the creepy impending Cylon attack.
I don’t get to see the next week’s preview but from this sounds of this forum its gonna rule.
Does anybody have any ideas as to what the Cylons were up to exactly? They know now that Boomer is alive onboard Galactica and carrying a baby that represents their union with the Almighty or some such mystical ranting, so I doubt they were really trying to attack. And what was the significance of the formation they were flying in? Seemed very precise and non-advantageous tactically. Some have speculated that the robo-Cylons and humano-Cylons are divided and that the robots are still carrying out their programming in spite of the machinations of the human ones, but I think we would have seen indications of that before now.

Seriously, watch the original episode. It’s not very goofy at all, and features some pretty good writing.

I was wondering about that as well. That connected-diamond formation they were gathering in kinda reminded me of the Tholian Web stuff from the old Trek.
And boy, what a great moment to be a Viper pilot, huh? They’d never be able to paint all the kills they racked up on the sides of their ships after that ‘battle’.
Umm, holy crap with what happened at 15 minuets left of this episode.
Ok, I’m pretty sure I called both Lost and Arrested Development the best things on TV this week…I think Battlestar just nudged its way into the lead.
I can’t believe this is the season finale!
And damn if that mole or whatever on the Admirals chin doesn’t totally distract me.
Adama’s a fucking badass and Ensign Ro’s about to get put down. Hard. I just loved how he snapped into action immediatley and started barking out orders kinda like how Helo and Tyrol reacted when they found out Sharon was about to be raped.
Batlar’s stuff was good too. I really felt bad for Six and Sharon and got a great deal of joy outta seeing Tyrol and Helo pound on those guys. Can’t we all just get along?
So the President doesn’t have the authority to promote/demote people at all? I mean I don’t think Ensign Ro would give a damn either way, but the Pres seemed a little powerless. Which I guess isn’t that surprising considering what she’s been through even on Galactica.

Wow!!! talk about pulling no punches, no way in hell you’d ever want to get transferred to the Rapestar.
My question is, was this anything like the original Pegasus episodes? I know the rape method of interrogation wouldn’t have been it but any other similarities? And I smell something fishy, how could the obviously newer Rapestar (thanks Citizen Burke) not be shut down by the Cylons?
Also, I didn’t hear what the Rapestars chief engineer said about the stealth ship, did Starbuck get it?
I was wondering about how the obviously newer Pegasus wasnt vulnerable to the cylon virus too.
The way the episode ended with the shot of the fleet just behind Galactica Im thinking the President will have it surrounded since its really the only thing she can do to help out.
Also, as Hypotoad said, it was pretty badass to see Adama jump to action and Calli immediately respond along with the rest of Galactica to get their guys back. It should be interesting to see what happens with Starbuck and Apollo. Well, mostly Apollo since nobody even knows Starbuck is there.
Granted, it was a finale as opposed to an opener, but this blew Lost away.
thecallahan, this was NOTHING like the old school episode. That was more Lloyd Bridges being the wreckless commander convinced they could win any battle while Adama urges caution, but the whole fleet gets caught up in the euphoria of another battlestar showing up. Cain leads a fairly suicidal attack on a basestar, there’s a huge explosion, and the Pegasus is gone, but no debris, leaving open the possibility that they survived.
And I’m pretty sure the Pegasus in the old version disappeared before the Cylon attack, sort of a flying Dutchman for the Colonies.
to be continued?!? fuckin’ ay. So that episode kicked everybody’s asses. It would suck if the Pegasus got destroyed at the end of this arc. The plot threads it could open up have a lot of potential.
Has the second half of the season started up or are you guys just watching the reruns?

This last episode we’re glorifying just aired on Sci-Fi and became available online. And I think this is also the last episode of the season.
