New season begins next Friday, if I recall correctly. Easily my most anticipated returning show of this year and many others. Is Adama dead? Is Boomer screwed? Is Baltar the Cylon Moses? Let the speculation begin!!!
I swear, I didn’t know there was a new season coming up this Friday until I came to this forum today. A testament to how BSG is the only thing I’ve ever watched on SciFi.
I really, REALLY hope Adama makes it. I don’t know how, since he got shot pretty badly, but if there was one character/performance you could name as being outstanding from the general "well-done"ness of the show, he was it. No, he IS it. IS. Not was.
I’d like to know how Boomer’s gonna act now. Is she gonna be all cyborg-y and cold? Or is she still gonna have a hint of humanity to her?
And I do hope someone finds out Balthar’s a traitor. That “talking to myself” stuff can’t fly forever.
New episode tonight! Yesssssssssss.
Overall it was an excellent opener. The dense plotting was enjoyable and kept me glued to my set. I really like how far the creators go to make the show feel realistic. And the dogfights! So cool for TV. I love how Galactica managed to jump right before the Cylons come bearing down on them. And some great tense scenes on Kobol. I am curious to see how that plot thread unfolds.
I thought Tigh’s flashbacks were repetitive and didn’t pay off that much. He’s a cool characer and I’d rather see more of Tigh and less of a door with the number 3 on it. The weakness of those brief scenes stick out because everything else was so well done. I had a couple of nitpicks with how some of the other stuff was handled, but no major offenses.
To be continued? At leat next week’s ep looks exciting.
That was a solid hour of television last night. Gripping, even.
They did a fantastic job of making them look younger…especially the return of Olmos’s mustache!

Oh well. I’ll be enjoying season 2 for the first time while you guys are suffering through reruns, so it all works out in the end.
The episode seemed to by really quick which I guess means it was good. My wife and I enjoyed it. Starbuck seems to be fairly screwed.

Agreed, its a little rediculous the amount of random stuff that happens around this guy and everyone just says, “Oh that’s just crazy Dr. Baltar”. I guess I just get tired of having the feeling that we are still waiting for the lines to be drawn. For all this build up I just hope it all pays off.
Otherwise I liked this episode. Tigh has always seemed a little dull but he made a great showing this time. After Chief taking that pilots death so badly I forsee bad things happening with that Lt when he and Callie get back.
I loved how they didn’t feel the need to resolve every cliffhanger from Season 1. As much as I loved Next Gen, I hated how they would set up these great cliffhangers and then wrap it all up in an hour and never mention it again.

I don’t think that most aboad the ship - if any - think he’s crazy. Both Adama and the President have the faith in the guy. Anyway, I love the way they handle his character. He’s my character on the show.
By the way, it was nice to see the guy that plays Apollo have a little edge to him in this last episode. I thought his character was fairly boring last season.
I’m not sure about Adam, but the Prez doesn’t trust Baltar. See their conversation in “Six Degrees of Seperation” where the President says she had no doubts he was somehow involved in the attack.
Of course it turned out Baltar was being framed in that instance, but she was right.
And we got a throw away line about “That shifty Baltar” or something to that effect in the new episode.
So who do you think was shooting at the Cheif and Cally on Kobol?

No one is going to question Baltar, not after “The Hand of God”.
Best sci fi on TV for my money. Not ever, I’m not starting that fight, but right now, there is nothing no where near as compelling. The true feat of this show is taking something that even as a four year old I got bored with really quick, and making it nail bitingly good. I’m so intrigued by this show, even the mystical elements aren’t boring me. Please tell me how Cylons and humans can breed.
If it turns out that they are a hybrid, part bio, part…well, synthetic bio, then it’s possible. Think the Nexus 6 from Blade Runner, only with deliberately designed bio-combatibility.
The red spine of lust may turn out to be the red spine of procreation, if Six did indeed concieve back in the miniseries (and then, what, upload the new genetic code along with herself when she sheilded Baltar from the blast? I assume that copy was destroyed at the time).
Which brings up another point…Six and Sharon are opposite ends of the spectrum…could this be an experiment to see which direction the Cylons want to go with this project?
Or was Sharon the only approved project, and Six followed her own rogue version of it?
This is a brutal show. My wife, who didn’t see season one, was wondering why all of the actors looked like they’d been twelve rounds with young Tyson in the season 2 premiere. I love how beaten up these guys are.
