I think it’s great that no matter where it’s used in science-fiction, Star Trek, V… the parallel to the Nazis always works. The New Caprica occupation is no different. Fantastic stuff.
A couple quick questions on some rumors I’ve heard:
SciFi is late with getting these first episodes of BSG on iTunes because they’re trying to get more people to watch the show on the network.
and
I’ve seen some rumors posted about BSG possibly being picked up by NBC maybe to run after Heroes on Monday nights (if Studio 60 doesn’t get any better). Supposedly this would be 2 hours of genre entertainment and the Heroes crowd could help boost BSG’s.

I saw on TVSquad.com post where NBC says this is not the case.
Has anyone else heard/read anything about this?
damn good stuff. everything seemed so much more polished to me.

I just love the fact that the Cylons have been humanised and no longer want to kill everyone and yet you end up hating them more than before.

Most new seasons of shows take a few days to a week to show up on iTunes.

That’s a common trait of every good villain, in science fiction or elsewhere. In my opinion a villain/monster should be a reflection or an extreme extension of the hero. It puts a prospective on things and moves the story beyond typical good vs. evil antagonism.I’m not quite sure where I read that but I agree 100%.

Watching it again, looks that way to me. Also the six model in his head (guessing by the red dress) says to Adama “You fools, he betrayed you…”, then Roslin says to Baltar “I’ve always wanted you…”

Exactly. A villain worth a damn has to have something for the audience to identify with. They don’t have to agree with it, just understand where they are coming from, i.e. the Cylons and their religous nuttery.

Between Helo and Juwalla, I would miss Juwalla a whole lot less. But I’ve been a big fan of Helo ever since season one.

Apollo has to got to lose that weight. I don’t say that as a slam against fat people. It’s just that on Bamber, the weight makes him look ridiculous.

This episode was really just a build to a cliffhanger but hot damn I loved Adama’s speech.

In a way, it was good to go 7 months between episodes. It makes the weeks wait a lot easier.

Not a bad episode, although it definately was just a build towards next week’s daring rescue.
Quick thoughts:

Loved the whole opening sequence. Glad to see it was Tyrol and co. that saved the prisoners. Did not consider them an option. Also, knew Sharon’s marines had gone somewhere, but I was waay off as to where.

What the hell happened to the chief’s beard, and how come nobody seems to notice it’s departure?

Adama’s speech, and the whole lead-up to the jump was very well done, and has me anxiously awaiting next friday.
Also, the previews for next week seem to indicate what i’ve been suspecting: Lee pulls a Han Solo and goes back to New Caprica with the Pegasus to help after all.
Yup. And I’ll go one step further…I think the Pegasus is going to show up for the big Star Wars rescue, saving the day…and then it’s going to get destroyed at the last possible minute, killing Lee (and Dualla) right in front of Adama. No way is everyone leaving New Caprica with big smiles on their faces. Not on this show.
Nah. If there’s gonna be a death, it’s gonna be Ellen. Did you see the look in Tigh’s remaining eye? He’s going to fuckin kill her, there’s no way he takes her back. He’s too far over the edge to forgive his slut wife this transgression.
Am I crazy, or when Helo and Dee were saying goodbye, did Helo say “Take care of my son”?
[edit]and I’m now 100% certain that Casey isn’t Starbuck’s. If Hera is as important to the Cylons as this episode made it appear, there’s no way they’d put the only other human/cylon hybrid they have at risk so Leoben can brainwash his human-crush.

It sure sounded like it to me. My friend that was watching it with me saw the body language between the two of them in that scene and said, “They’re having an affair,” but I don’t think they’d so casually introduce that that way.
And yeah, Tigh was awesome when he was staring down Ellen. There was this look of shocked disbelief, and then you just see his eye die, like his mind is made up and that’s that. Makes me wonder if he gets off Caprica alive – I can’t see him going back to being XO, not after the roads he’s gone down.
