Very ballsy show. This is why sci-fi is such a great genre.
Tigh’s we are on the side of the demons speech was great, and he summed up the nature of war so perfectly. I also loved his answer to the question of the morality of suicide bombs.
I wonder if Adama will be able to rescue the people on the planet, or will what going on lead to a cylon civil war. It could be interesting if some of the cylons end up saving the humans captivity.
It also looks like Adama is getting rid of his moustashe next episode.

I have a hard time believing that kid is Starbuck’s. I think Leoben, who is completely certifiably obsessed with Kara (and so far, the only Cylon to talk about streams and such) was trying to CREATE a Kara. He’s also not at any of the little planning meetings. I think Leoben tried to fake a little baby Kara. I have a feeling there’s NO human in that thing. it could just be an infant version of the Six model. But I have a hard time buying that it’s really Kara’s kid. If there was proof the Cylon could make those farms really work, I doubt there’d still be an occupation.
The setup for Boomer’s last snap is lovely. There’s no way Boomer gets sent to new Caprica and DOESN’T find out about her baby being hidden from her all this time. She finally comes to terms with it, she finally forgives herself, hell, that comforting speech she gives Adama almost hinges on her acceptance of the lie he fed her, and he’s in the room not saying anything. He’s not looking at her, he’s staring into space and gulping hard on his drink, but she’s going to remember that. And that is going to fuck things up something fierce.
Tigh and Tyrol were great to watch, compelling for a lot of reasons. Tigh has turned more into Cain than I think anyone would have imagined after Pegasus. The man is damn near possessed, his faith in Adama is so unflinching. And Tyrol screaming on Gaeta was frustrating to watch, especially since the words against “collaborators” were coming from the mouth of a man who was almost executed for saving a Cylon from torture, who fell in love with that Cylon.
I also liked when Anders got in Tigh’s face–and it actually weakened him. That’s the first time I think Tigh’s ever called Starbuck “Kara.”
Casey is really obviously NOT Starbuck’s kid. She’s 2-3 years old, for christ’s sake. The one shot of Boomer and Helo’s kid at the end of last season, and the brief shots in the previews of it for this season show that it’s still an infant, and we know that it had to have been conceived before Casey, and in all likelihood born before Casey (especially considering it was a premature birth). So unless Leoben took Casey and dropped her in an accelerated growth tank of some kind, she’s simply too old to be Starbuck’s.

Uhm…part Cylon? I don’t think there are hard and fast rules on these unions. I think if it is Kara’s kid, it’s probably a lot more manipulated than Sharon and Helo’s cybermunchkin.
Kara was at the Cylon breeding facility in the fifth episode of the second season. According to this site, that was 61 days after the Cylon attack on the colonies. The Cylons arrive on New Caprice on Day 660. That’s 599 days, plus another four months 'til the third season premiere, so let’s say about 720 days since Kara’s embryo was harvested. Knock off nine months for gestation, that leaves 450 days, which comes out to 15 months.
This, of course, assumes that being half-Cylon did absolutely nothing to accelerate her gestation and development.

Don’t start the wake just yet. The promo said, “This season on BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.” We got glimpses from a few upcoming episodes. Including a look at a back-in-shape Apollo.
I bet Adama’s moustache meets an honorable demise following the inevitable but no doubt costly liberation of New Caprica.
Something else to add to the love-fest: Anders is suddenly a legitimate character. Never thought that would happen.

As far as the story goes, I definitely like the way the show is going. I hope they have the guts to kill Roslin. Although I could understand why they wouldn’t want to. Still, I like where the story is and it’s certainly better than the “Oh, the Cylons found us again, now we jump” story that had been getting kind of tired last season.
I do have to second the notion of why they wouldn’t want to build there city in that really nice looking forested area. Why would you want to live in the gravel pit when there’s a nice wooded stream right over there?
Fat Apollo looks kind of ridiculous so in the upcoming episodes I’d like him to stop being such whiny bitch and hit the gym a bit more.
I don’t know if I can take 2 more months of these intense cliffhanger episodes though.
I think we can assume Roslin survives since the previews show her talking to Baltar and taking her seat back in Colonial One.
Really liked the premier, I don’t think there is much I can add that hasn’t already been said. So I’ll just leave it with a “Can’t wait for next week”
Maybe its just me but I thought the upcoming scene with Roslin, Tigh and Adama on Colonial One was another Baltar hallucination. I’m going from what I remember but wasn’t the ship in space? It looked like it and I can’t imagine how in their current condition the fleet is going to be able to rescue everyone AND get all the ships back into space.
I could be very wrong but that was my impression when I saw it.

Starbuck’s storyline is really unsettling. I expect a major mindfuck in the next episodes.
Tigh kicks ass and his wife changed from an interesting diversion to major player in the show.
The Adama father/son relationship is nice and dysfunctional, although I get a feeling we’re going to get a resolution pretty soon.
The cliffhangers, as always, can suck my dick. I don’t need another incentive to think about BSG during the week.
I expect their settlement looked pretty nice too before they camped in it for a year.
Which would be a funny little parallel: Colonists arrive and tear down the trees in the area. Cylons blow shit up and plant trees on New Caprica.
I imagine that the decision of where to settle was also limited by the locations where they could land the larger ships. It’s not like Colonial One could land in the middle of the woods.
Just caught the last few minutes again on scifi. Something is up with the boomer that meets up with Anders and company. What happened to all the marines that were with the Sharon from Galactica? The one that we see with Anders is unaccompanied.
They left her behind. She’s infiltrating, not invading.
I realize that, and maybe i’m just grasping at straws. It just seems odd to me that Galactica would send not one but two raptors and a contingent of marines and not at least have them see that Sharon safely met up with the resistence. Its unclear how much the cylon’s know about the meeting, but it wouldn’t be beyond their capabilities to send another Sharon along to fool Anders and company. Just hypothesizing.
