It is just 13 days til Wolverine And The X-Men launches on Nicktoons. WATXM is the first new series I am looking forward to this year. Of Course…I have high…X-Pectations, about this X-Citing new animated series about Marvel Entertainment’s favorite Mutant Superheroes.
A friend of mine found the first 5 episodes. It’s not a bad show. It actually takes a couple of cues from Grant Morrison, though it’s aimed at kids, so they obviously won’t take things quite as far.
I imagine most of us will wait for your thumbs up before committing, duke.
Man, I hate it when a group member gets a big head and wants their name up front. Diana Ross & the Supremes, Franki Valli & the Four Seasons. It just never ends well. Next thing you know, Wolverine will have canned all the other X-Men and replaced them with nobodies who he can push around with his diva hissy fits.
James Kimbell, I am X-Cited for the series already…and am encouraged by the fact that the series has already been green lit for at least 52 episodes.
Fuck Wolverine. He is a shit character and 98% of all X-Men comics published in the last twenty years have sucked to the extent that being raped by an angry clown would have been a reasonable alternative to actually reading any of them.
Wolverine’s rise to prominence is directly related to the decline of modern comics. And western civilization.
I think Wolverine is one of the best characters ever created by Marvel. I have never understood how people can dislike a hero that is nearly indestructable, has built in metal claws allowing him to win nearly every fight he enters. Wolverine is especially interesting when either in Japan as Samurai and Paramour of Lady Mariko Yoshida, who fights her cousin…The Silver Samurai or when he is a co-owner of a nightclub in Madripoor, where he is barely disguised as…Patch, fighting white slavers, EEEEEEEvil dictators, Super Villains like Sabretooth, and Roughhouse. At the end of Chris Claremont’s run on Uncanny X-Men…Logan became leader of the X-Men.
2009 is the year of…The Wolverine with the new animated series…Wolverine and the X-Men, the DTV Hulk Vs Wolverine and Thor (in seperate mini movies), and of course the best Superhero film of the year…X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Yes, I want to see Watchmen as well…But I am a Marvel fan first and foremost as far as my preference of comics, Super hero films (both animated and live action) and videogames.

I think this will convince a lot more people that Wolverine is shit than anything else. If we can just educate the world about who Duke Fleed is and then let them know that Fleed loves Wolverine that would be the end of Logan as a bankable character.

Wolverine is clearly Marvel’s best and marketable character. So…Let me get this straight…If the world meets me, and learns that Logan is one of my Favorite Marvel Characters than Wolverine’s popularity will fade away?

“Best” and “most marketable” are almost never the same thing. And certainly not in this case.

Haven’t been to the sewers in about a year or two, but it’s assuring to know The Duke keeps on rocking. I feared I would never read a post such as this one again.
