good show tonight. they kept four possible suspects in play without giving it away. the possiblity of the cop was nice as it set up the ending well. it’s hard to do those who-done-its as we, the viewer, know it’s not going to be some stranger pulled out at the last second.
the plot with the switch at birth, nice, allowed the reminders of her rufi incident and the parental mystey plots while developing a great story possibilities for Mac.

Z-Man could probally explain it better, but I think it had something to do with the security guy calling in a phony tip on Lily Kane’s convicted killer, which makes him and Lily’s father (security guy’s boss) seem like they’ve got something more to hide.

the confrontation was at the Christmas party, the episode where the movie star dad had a stalker. Veronica showed the photo’s to Jake. He looked at them ands was shocked by them. he showed to his wife, grabbed her and said something like “what did you do?” over and over. he seemed to have nothing to do with the photos, anyway. that went squarely on Lily’s mother.
This episode had some sloppy stuff in it, I thought. I mean, does Dark Hair Mother seem like the type who would have a string quartet show up at school for her daughter’s birthday? And I think they just played the changeling angle up way too much. But plenty of good stuff, and it’s good that they’re not trying to wrap that whole drama up in one episode, and it’s also good that VM is getting a good sidekick. I think one of the big problems of the show is that they can’t seem to make the sidekicks interesting, even when they give them backstories. I still haven’t committed the black kid’s name to memory. Of course, this may, unconsciously, be the result of unfair comparisons to Whedon. But I find the Mars family more than interesting enough to carry the show.
THis has become one of favorite shows. When I first read about it, I though “It going be a OC meets Nancy Drew crapfest” but I gave it a chance and it’s a good show. Nice to know we will have a solution to the mystery.
One more thing…last night, I finally figured out what the term “09-er” means (it being the zip code of status in Neptune). At first I thought it was the name of Neptune High’s football team (you know, like the 49ers?), then I thought it might refer to them being Class of '09 (which wouldn’t make sense unless VM was in 8th grade).
I’m so disappointed that I forgot about this last week’s episode. I was playing Halo and then watching the football game and totally forgot about it. According to TVGuide.com the episode is not being rebroadcast any time in the next week. Bummer for me. I guess I’ll just have to read the summaries.
there’s only one bad thing about this show and that is the lack of logan. whenever he’s in an episode he’s in it a lot but there’s been like 3 episodes or so already that he hasn’t even been in a scene.
It’s just, I remember Weevil bitching about how nobody in Neptune gave a shit about the crime in his neighborhood once before. It may have in fact been that case.
Also, I love how EVERYONE is a suspect. Keeps you guessing, and although I’m going to go with the “least likely suspect” theory (I vote Logan’s dad), it makes for GREAT conversation with a fellow fan.
i love the writing and flow of this show; even in episodes that don’t deal with the direct mystery there are subtle reminders of it to keep it in the forefront without taking away from the current episode. tonight we learned a few new things, nothing earth shattering, but they build up show after show, eventually building a case.
Yeah, this episode really had snap to it, like a c.1989 hip hop beat. The repressed homosexuality line, the “Veronica Mars is smarter than me,” the mad dash to the getaway car. I’m even starting to feel like Wallace is an actual character.
