The Season starts Thursday September 8th at 8/7c
Jeri Ryan joins for a handful of eps atleast. Tate Donovan is back. Though judging by his lack of presence in the promo I wonder for how long.
This will be a perfect bridge in waiting for Serenity to come out. I hope S2 will get reviewed by CHUD again.

Even though I think season two has now played almost everywhere (if we’ve had it in Australia, I’m sure everyone else has seen it by now), I appreciate the spoiler heads-up. Quite often we “foreigners” are ignored. Ta!
I sincerely hope they leave the seth/summer on again off again on again off again on again off again relationship crap alone.
After the 4th time they did it last season, it started to get a little grating. And they devoted SO much time to it so it made watching each week pretty painful until they spent some time with Ryan’s older brother and all the nonsense he got into which was interesting.
It seems they are afraid to break up Seth Summer for good. I think they have done a realistic tv job of keeping Ryan/Marissa apart though.
Eyes star lands on the O.C.
If only this show’s debut was after DH it might have had a chance. That or give it more than 4 weeks.
The guy who got shot in the ear the first episode will have a recurring part as the new dean of discipline at the Harbor School. For some reason he’ll think Ryan, Marissa, Seth, and Summer are troublemakers. I wonder what gave him that idea?
I saw a promo for this last night. Should be as good as the last if they manage to keep the soap elements to a minimum.

Yeah, I’m maybe halfway through Season 2 on DVD, and you know what this show’s problem is?
The characters they create as rivals are far more interesting than the people they’re supposed to be competition for. With a few exceptions (Oliver, Luke, DJ), Anna, Alex, Lindsay, and Zach are all better written and better acted than the shrill, vain Summer (no matter how hard they try to get me to like her, Rachel Bilson will always sound like the poor man’s Fran Drescher) and the moody Marissa (who Mischa Barton continues to play like she just finished taking someone’s dick out of her mouth).
That being said, Peter Gallagher makes this show perpetually watchable.

Obviously Josh Swartz never saw a crime show because they have a little thing called a gunshot residue test they can perform to see who actually fired a gun. I’ll look past that for now. The fingerprint thing wasn’t a good cover but passible for now.
I’m also not seeing why Ryan is so distant towards Seth(thinking Trey is his only family) and distant towards Marissa. He was going to kill Trey. He should be apologising to Marissa for getting them in that mess.
Only weakpoint for the show is they sometimes tie up their stories too well.
But it looks like things will pick up and it’s pretty tough to screw up senior year.

Nothing in my post was an attack on you, indeed, I’ve tried not to do that recently. However, your immaturity, once again, interpreted my attempt to be critical of a show you love as a personal attack.

I thought this was a very weak episode. Seemed very disjointed and erratic in storytelling.
Episodes like this one are why I try to hide The OC on my Tivo from prying eyes. Everything was so contrived and “soapy”. Everything seemed like they were embarassed by the storylines and just wanted to wrap them up as quickly as possible.
Ryan’s brother changed stories so fast I’m surprised they had time to type up a warrant. The kids trying aiding a fugitive was a non-issue. Julie trying to frame Ryan for (potentially) murder was treated like a social fopah.
I believe The OC will be airing at the same time as Alias and Smallville, two other shows at the bottom of my Tivo list. The Tivo can only grab 2, and this episode is a point in favor of Smallville… Then again, Smallville’s season finale was 10 points in favor of having that whole show hypnotically purged from my mind, so it’s still a horse-race…

Sounds alot better than week 1. Summer with a nemesis should be great.

Ryan Atwood decked a Crow !
I’m almost finished with seeing Season 1 on DVD via Netflix. I don’t know what happens in Season 2 but it seems like tonight’s episode was the first fight Ryan actually won.
Of the 2 episodes from this season, it seems Adam Brody’s delivery is a lot stiffer than in the 1st season.
Brody sounded fine to me. His Karl Rove surprise, “That’s not good” seemed spot on.
Now that was an excellent episode. From the previews I figured Marissa was gonna get expelled but I was taken back when Ryan gets kicked out for punching the dean of discipline in the same episode.
Kudos to Eric Mabius for creating a trule dispicaple person. His character takes such joy in squashing young people. Last year people hated some if not all the newbies. Partially because they weren’t good/used well and part because they were different and split up the group. Swartz cut out all the niceness and brought in 3 bad, bad people.
Was funny to see Marissa wearing the Ryan Atwood runaway gear.
The fallout from this should be good next week. I hope they start the new school though I could see it be hard for Ryan to get in seeing he punched a faculty member.
Any clue on Charlotte? Revenge on Kirsten from a past deed that Kirsten doesn’t remember? Does Charlotte want SWF Kirsten and get Sandy and the family?
*With Tate not in the credits and him owing a ton of money to the wrong people anyone else get the feeling he’ll either sleep with the fishes or go on the run?
