Over in the Scrubs forume there is talk that the clip show was the worest episode ever. I was thinking no matter how good a show is there is always one shitty episode. So what episode ruins a almost perfect series.
Futurama: “Where the Buggalo Rome” So the natives of Mars feel they have been ripped off and kipnapped Amy. I dont know why but it was flat
Too easy, but the first four seasons of ‘The West Wing’ would have been pretty perfect (with some okay episodes, but an above average ratio of good to great ones) if not for “Issac and Ishmael” (aka the 9/11 episode).
Actually, for me, the Futurama that constituted the series’ first black eye was the one where Bender becomes a were-car. That was sadly lame.

Battlestar Galactica has had a few weak links now. The one I really couldn’t stand, though, was the episode just after the New Caprica ordeal in which Kat is threatened with having her (made up just for this episode) drug-running past revealed, only to fatally redeem herself at the end. It was very Star Trek: The Next Generation, it was terribly predictable, and I hated it.
“Prison Break In” - Arrested Development. Their worst episode. I don’t care what anyone says… it was ass.
In college, I finally convinced my friends to sit down and watch a single episode of Buffy, just to give it a chance. That episode turned out to be “Beer Bad.”
They didn’t become fans.
The West Wing episode (season 4) where CJ goes to her home town, has sex with Matthew Modine, and deals with her ailing James-Cromwell-lookalike father.
God, that was painful.
Duckman had a nauseating episode entitled “America the Beautiful” which violated the cardinal tenets of the show by featuring a musical number and being preachy.
The Invader Zim episode “Game Slave 2” was intended to be a flip of the bird to Nickelodeon, but it’s just grossly insipid and lacking inspiration.
The What’s Happenin’ episode where Rerun has an ill-thought out get rich quick scheme that fails, and Raj has to give his kid sister a quarter for something.
Or the According to Jim that starts, plays the theme song, stuff happens, rolls the credits, and ends.
Virtually the entire second season of Next Generation.
It’s amazing that a season that contained such stinkers as “The Royale” and “The Dauphin” could somehow go that extra mile and end on an even worse note with a goddamn clip show. It did, however, give us “Measure of a Man” and “Q Who” and I was always a bit partial to “Time Squared”. That’s 3 good episodes out of 22. Amazing that the show was able to shake off such a lousy start and become what it did in later seasons.
I didnt like Locke’s first flashback episode of season 3 of Lost. I was enjoying watching his character spiral and get more desperate for meaning in his life, during the last two seasons, but in this episode its like the writers decided to revert the character to what the fans and the actor himself preferred (i.e - season 1 wise-jungle-trekking Locke), as a result we see an inexplicable change in the character immediately after an event that should have broken the man, that was too jarring and fan-pandering for my liking.

To be fair, season 2 of Next Gen came during the writer’s strike, and they were forced to use already-written scripts from the original attempt at a new Trek series that had been brewing in the 70s before morphing into the first feature film.
Yeah, “The Child” was the Phase II script wasn’t it?
edit-quick google search says it was indeed “The Child”. Still, it just goes to prove how amazing it was that Next Generation was able to pull through such a rough season and rebound to become the hit it was.
Frankly, I thought the first season of The Next Generation was just as bad. I gave up halfway into season 2, then came back sometime during season 4 when everyone started talking about how great it was.

I couldn’t agree more regarding the Kat-centric episode of Battlestar Galactica. I can’t imagine the show will ever have a worse hour.
Veronica Mars is by no means perfect, but I hope it never tops the ludicrousness of the season two finale “Not Pictured.”
Any Lost episode that featured “Kate” in the title
The most recent episode of South Park… Very disappointing.
That Futurama from the fourth season where Leela becomes a blernsball player is the worst one, in my mind.
Meanwhile, the “Propaniacs” episode of King of the Hill doesn’t contain a single joke. I counted.
Futurama – Jurassic Bark – I refuse to watch it because of the horribly cruel and emotionally manipulative ending where Fry’s dog dies in front of the pizza shop. The right thing to do – have the pizza owner (name escapes me - Venucci?) force the dog to replace Fry as the delivery boy – thus insulting Fry even further and still explaining why the dog’s remains were there. (Season 4 - er Volume 4 - has a number of clunkers – Kipf gets pregnant, the Sting…)
Veronica Mars – this season has had some stankers, but the one with Logan moping around and then yelling at that little girl was unbearable.
The Simpsons – Yes, I know the post season 10 stuff is really bad. But the episode where Lisa is President and Bart has a ponytail – that was the worst.
The Jetsons – the episode where Mr. Spacely visits George & the family for dinner. I fucking hated Mr. Spacely.
