As for tonights ep. Not bad. Great performances from Rosenbaum and Kreuck. An interesting freak power. Clark’s solo adventure was cool. That big guy was a mess. Was that Batista?
The introduction of J’onn J’onnz was the only thing this episode had going for it.
And the Lana Lex romance has made Lex a boring character. And Kreuk’s “sinister” acting is really terrible.
Since when did J’onn J’onzz have “the Mighty Flaming Hand of Power/Death and Possibly Other Stuff” in his arsenal?
The glowing eyes were a fucking sweet image though. After seeing the preview last week, I thought it was going to be Cyborg returning.

Yeah, it was Batista. It was a perfect role for him. Plus,it was great to see Clark out on his own. He took some advice from Green Arrow and realized soemtimes you have to think bigger than Smallville. I liked that he took that route.

Tonight’s episode was a repeat, but since I didn’t catch it the first time, it’s new to me! That shitty flick Eragon kept getting pimped each and every commercial break, but at the end of the show they had a montage of everything that had happened this season, plus they showed parts of the JLA episode. AWESOME. I don’t know when they are going to air new episodes ('07 probably) but I will be there. This season is shaping up to be something special, at least for comic geeks.
They always take their christmas break a week before thanksgiving. They will be back mid-January probably.
I’m excited. I hope the rest of the season is the setting up of the JL.
Actually, it was a new episode. You can tell because they touch upon Lex’s recent proposal to Lana. Now they’re on break. Loved the Lex outro. the JLA episode should be fun.
It was a new episode, according to my DVR. Kinda boring, and the “Mexican” kid with the perfect accent because he “watched American TV growing up” was just downright silly.
Now, who didn’t geek out when the five shot of the JLA walking down the street showed up. Though it was kinda silly to see four of them is a pseudo costumes and Clark in his usual blue t-shirt and red jacket.
The show is getting fairly ridiculous of it’s handling of Clark zooming all over the place. last night he’s in Metropolis when he finds out the kid is in Granville. assuming he ran to Metropolis, he runs back to Smallville to pick up his truck, which he carries along with him because he knows he’s going to have a passenger on his way back.
it would be a humorous if one episode someone looks at his truck odometer and mentions the low mileage. you see Clark look off and a vision of him running super-seed with the truck above his head appears.

At first I thought it was new episode as well, but because I missed two of them, I checked The CW website and it placed the episode in the middle of the season. My apologies for the misinformation.
As for what slager brought up, as horrible as Superman IV was, it had a really funny scene where the new publisher asks Clark why he has no overseas travel expenses. Clark just kinda bumbles his way through. I would PAY to see a scene of him running around town with that truck above his head.
what a weird episode, it was so disjointed. All the farmer/mexican immigrant slave labor stuff was pointless. I generally give the freak-of-the-week stuff a lot of leeway but that whole A story was just crap, I don’t even know where to start. The villain was defeated so easily I can’t figure out why they bothered making him a freak at all, the “mexican” wasn’t mexican for some reason, what illegals are even doing in middle america mystifies me and oh yea clark showed another complete stranger his powers. I could go on but the holes and general strangeness saturates the whole episode
I’m not sure but I get the feeling the whole point was just to get lana to say, “money is power” and the writers thought, “oh crap, what the hell do we do with the other 35 minutes?”.
You could pretty much skip the episode and not miss out on anything story-wise. Aside from maybe the ending shot of lex, there wasn’t much of anything interesting/cool about it. Definitely my least favorite episode of the season thus far.

I live in Southwest Missouri, which borders Kansas and there are TONS of ilegals. Most are here to work in the turkey/chicken plants for practically slave labor.
Agreed, the episode was a filler and the worst of the season so far.
Sometimes I don’t know why the show does this.
They have a decent idea that could make a very good episode, and they make it a kryptofreak excuse.
The episode could of been a lot stronger if the other farmer wasn’t a kryptofreak, but just human. It reminded me of an earlier episode, where Pete was using Kryptonite to speed up his car. WHY? It could of worked with regular NOS. Sometimes the show needs the guts to stay real, that sometimes the worst villians don’t have superpowers.
The idea of Clark as an illegal alien has always been up for debate in the symbolism of the character. Having Clark realize that immigrants going for the American Dream mirroring his ultimate destiny would of been more interesting. Clark has the ability to be something more by just simply finishing his training with Jor-el. The episode should of played more on his arrogance of not knowing what he had.
Good point. I don’t get why all the villains have to have some freak thing going on. Just make them a baddie and get on with it.
Here’s hoping the next part of the season is aces.
