This was probably my favorite episode so far although I’m a little pissed that they killed Caroline. Her comical introduction at the beginning of the episode, followed by that sweet scene involving a gentlemanly bow and an apology from Crane, made me think that we had a new character who could pop in and out of episodes every now and again. Who is going to repair Crane’s jackets now? Also: Crane hates emoticons. We would get on fabulously!
I’m constantly impressed by the monsters on this show. There are some high budget movies which don’t manage to come up with monsters this good, and The Weeping Woman is definitely one of the best they’ve done so far. A lesser show would have just featured the monster by itself. Sleepy Hollow goes all out by making everything around her appear to be underwater, making her presence a hundred times creepier.
I like what they’re doing with Katrina. She’s been a bit of a nothing character for most of the show, but it looks like they have a plan for her and that interests me. John Noble gets two scenes and steals them both. Still liking Hawley, although I wish they wouldn’t feel the need to shoe-horn him into every episode. I’d much rather have more Jenny, and am a bit disappointed by her tiny appearance here. Give us more Jenny, writers!
Wasn’t feeling this one entirely. But then they go and slowly, wonderfully insinuate that there may be a love triangle here after all and suddenly, I am deeply interested (and impressed). Definitely seems like Katrina will be more of a prominent character soon.
Also…what the hell does Headless do during the day? I can’t picture him tilling the fields.
Hawley sounds like a mix of Gary Busey and Denis Leary and it freaks me out more than anything I’ve seen on this show.
That said, I’m not into Hawley yet. It is so painfully obvious they are trying to shoehorn him into the cast, and it’s jarring. I’m not sold on the character yet, so that doesn’t help matters.
I loved Hawley when he was first introduced; a charming, Nathan Drake-esque rogue (dude is even dressing like him) but he’s like a cookie: a sometimes food. Witty and engaging dialogue all the while maintaining character = this show.
That was some downright amazing FX with the Weeping Lady. I really like the actress who played Caroline. It’s unfortunate that she didn’t get more time on the show. Really liked her.
Another great episode, with amazing FX work both practical and otherwise (dodgy late-game CGI spider the exception, perhaps). Great callbacks to the first season, fun banter, and Mills and Crane doing yoga.
If all this episode did was explain why Daniel Boone wore a coon hat, then yes this was a worthy episode. Who knew it was because of the scars on his head probably from a Wendigo. Awesome.

I’d like this if it weren’t for every episode having Ichabod re-affirming his and Abbie’s bond while Ichabod and Abbie’s Comradeship Theme plays. Cmon, we get it. They’re besties and they need to fight evil together. At least change up the music.
