I hope I’m not the only one looking forward to tonight’s return to crazy town. The more I’ve learned about the cast and crew behind the scenes the more I love this show.
I do hope there’s more modern stuff and less flashbacks this time around. That was my only real gripe with the first season.
I’d like ZERO flashbacks, ideally, or just keeping them literally to flashes of images. The extended flashbacks kill the momentum dead.
Also: more Horsemen, less MOTW. The batshit crazy mythology is a huge reason I watch the show. When they try to go serious/X-Files on us with regards to monsters not really tethered to the main mythology, the show becomes a bore.
And it’s probably too much to hope for them to kill Irving’s daughter’s story. We don’t care! We just want more Headless Horsemen wielding automatic weapons!
Well, they cast Victor Garber as Crane’s dad, so I wouldn’t count on fewer flashbacks.

That was an awesome season opener.
Brushed itself off after last season and got right back into it with Gusto.
So glad to have it back.

John Noble chewing the scenery as the Horseman of War? Awesome.
John Noble controlling a badass suit of armor that also wields a flaming sword? FUCKING INSPIRED.
Oh how I love this show.
This show is like watching Sam Raimi on speed. Just relentless energy.
hehe the Headless Horseman domestic scene had me chuckling. “Dammit, woman, I spend all day being the avatar of death. :: takes shirt off, slips into house clothes :: The least you could do is have dinner waiting for me. Christ almighty.”
AThe Ben Franklin as arrogant asshole jokes culminated to an “all about the Benjamins” joke. I laughed very hard at that.
This is the definition of “hitting the ground running.” And judging by the preview, things aren’t about to slow down.

I somehow forgot quite how good this show is, but this first episode wasted no time at all in reminding me. I will admit that I completely fell for that opening; so much so that I actually started to fret that I’d somehow missed an episode!
If television was a race, Sleepy Hollow has so much momentum that everything else would be somewhere behind panting and that’s part of its charm. In a world where everyone apparently has the attention span of a goldfish, Sleep Hollow laughs and says “Follow this! We’re a year ahead! It’s an illusion! There’s a key! Here’s Benjamin Franklin! Rescue attempt! Where’s the key? There’s the key! USED THE KEY! Purgatory! Evil doubles! Horned deeeeemons! Suits of motherfucking armor with flaming swords! HOW IS YOUR ATTENTION SPAN DOING, FUCKWITS?”
Basically, I fucking love this show.
