Man I love crazy Billy. He’s so much fun to watch. “I can’t wear clothes today! They all feel so heavy!” Billy and George comparing treatments was pretty funny.
Nate’s mid-life crisis came out of nowhere. I knew something had to happen for Nates character this season, since he seemed to be the most normal of all the characters this season, but I didn’t expect him to nuts and kill that bird. What was the signifigance of the bird anyway?
Claire is a ho-bag, plain and simple. Ruth uses every opportunity to scream at Claire, and I love it, I laughed my ass off when she yelled at Claire in the middle of her speech at Nate’s birthday party. It was even funnier that everyone else pretty much had no reaction to it, as if they expected it.
Man, now Rico’s being strung around by Vanessa. Sucks for him, but at least he gets sex.
According to next week’s preview, David & Keith’s surrogate is already pregnant. Does this mean they won’t adopt from Roger’s contact?
Great ep. Loved crazy Billy. I’m surprised Brenda didn’t notice the warning signs of Billy off his meds. She just assumed Nate said something to him. That seemed a little wierd to me. When someone changes their personality that drastically, you gotta know something’s up.
Claire is not a ho-bag. She’s just a college kid. I, and all my friends, went through the exact same phase. You party alot, you have sex alot, and eventually you grow out of it.
I don’t know if its a requisite for psychologists to be bat-shit crazy, but I find it hard that Brenda can help anyone else considering she can’t control anything in her own life. She is the epitome of insecurity.
Nate…well, something had to happen. He’s never been the one to want to settle down and have kids. Even when he was with Lisa, he was always trying to get away. The happy, married life is not really his thing. I, too, was surprised in his sudden rage-filled bird kill. I could understand if things got exaggerated due to all the tequila shots he drank, but the next morning when he saw the dead bird in the trash, he didn’t show any signs of remorse.
Keith and David are great, which means something bad has too happen soon.
Ruth and George…ehhh. I hope Ruth loosens up a bit. But previews from next week show her contemplating dumping George. I kinda hopes she does because I don’t know how much longer I can take that storyline.

Last nights episode reminded me of the 3rd season, where everything was all-shitty, all-the-time.
So far, Keith is the only one with a squared-away attitude. Everyone else seems so pathetic. Each character dealing with their own shit in the worst ways.
What is really going on? I mean, are there better ways of handling these situations? Is there a reason not one person can help themselves?
Think about it: each character has their own issues, but none of them show any determination of solving their problems. They all complain, dig deeper holes, and proceed to bury themselves. Nate even almost kissed George’s daughter, for chrisssakes!!
Perhaps the fact that everyone is so pathetic is a clue to SFU’s take on life, but I can’t figure out what that answer is right now. Guess I’ll have to wait for the Billy-bloodbath for an answer.
Nate and Brenda’s explosive fight outside the bathroom amidst the birthday party just shows how they weren’t meant to be together. Also, it looked as if something was about to happen between he and Maggie (George’s daughter) before they were interrupted.
Crazy Billy was enjoyable until the last scene with Claire which was rather disturbing. It just goes to show how the medicine was helping his psychosis.
The scene between George and Billy singing the Johnny Cash song on the steps was classic.
The bit with Ruth exploding at Claire while toasting Nate at the party was also quite funny.
Things certainly seem to be picking up with all the storylines, so the coming weeks should be fantastic.

Good thing that Tom Cruise isn’t on these boards or this thread would take a quick turn into a novel. Anyway, I was telling my wife that it would be an interesting final episode if they showed how all the characters die like they show people at the beginning of each episode.

You probably just spoiled it for everyone. That sounds completely legitimate, and exactly where the show is probably headed.
My predicitons:
George is going to kill Ruth, then himself.
Vanessa will find out about Rico’s lie (about the ‘dead’ girlfriend), and kill Rico.
Billy is going to kill Claire, Nate, Brenda, maybe Mom, then himself.
David and Keith, that’s a tough one. I suspect Jan Brady will fall in love with Keith, kill David, then Keith, then have the baby, which she’ll name Alan Ball Charles.
The show is still interesting but I hate that Ruth has really turned into a total bitch with no understanding of others, Nate seems incapable of any happiness, and Rico is just plain stupid!
ruth is such a fucking drag. she was always one of the better characters on the show but now everytime she’s on screen i feel like my head is going to explode. i’ve been saying it for 3 years BRING BACK ROBBIE!!! sisto was terrific last episode.

I was praying for the return of Sarah and Bettina and they did not dissapoint. Ruth had to lighten up or she would explode. Seeing her going through Claire’s stash for the “green kind” as opposed to the “brown kind” was absolutely hilarious. However, Ruth cutting George loose was hard to watch. I knew it had to happen, but I expected it to take months, not two days. Ruth just kicked him to the curb! That’s cold.
It looks like the show is flipping things around. Those who were happy the first half of the season are becoming miserable and vice versa. Keith and David are fighting, as are Nate and Brenda, while Ruth and Claire have reconciled their difference and Rico and Vanessa are on their way.
There’s too much good stuff to point out one by one, but I think its safe to say this may be my favorite episode of the season yet.
Oh wait… Claire’s pantyhose song was brilliant. " Yeah but ties don’t suffocate you or stifle your privates." I know exactly how she feels. I hate hose and despise any job that requires me to wear them. What a stupid invention.
yea, wow, excellent episode… i half hate the writers and ball for making the final season so fantastic after a couple of rather lackluster seasons… i don’t want it to end…
i must be as naive as george because i fell for ruth’s trick… i didn’t even catch on during the pots&pans conversation! not until ruth divulged her scheme to her girlfriends… poor george… look for maggie to confront ruth, should be interesting
the scene w/ rico happily carrying in the water jug… hillarious… enjoyed the billy/nate scene as well (nate was sure hoping that was maggie knocking at the door eh?)
Yep, this was definitely my favorite episode of the season. They just knocked it out of the park. Did anyone else notice it was directed by Mary Harron, who directed American Psycho?
Anyway, Claire’s introduction to corporate working hell was played out extremely well and won me over with her “pantyhose song” and her comment to her mother about her clothes being a “hot dog” suit. This is the first time I have not really hated Claire in a while, as they made her into a miserable bitch. Last night, I actually had some sympathy for her as she dealt with that creepy lady across her at work. I was also glad to see her reconcile things with her mother.
Seeing Ruth let loose is always good. Does anyone else remember the episode from an earlier season where she accidentally takes Nate’s drugs and trips out in the woods. Glad to see the return of Sarah and Bettina as well, as Patricia Clarkson and Kathy Bates play those characters so well and bring so many laughs.
Based on what has been going on between Nate and Brenda, as well as Nate and Maggie, methinks something may happen before the end of the season. I have slowly started to not like Brenda as much, as she has become more manipulative and we all know Nate can’t stand to be told what to do.
I am hoping things cool down between David and Keith. Keith obviously never wanted to be a father (perhaps because he has so much unreleased anger and resentment toward his own father). Some of it certainly came out whilst dealing with Anthony and Durrell. I noticed that the young actor playing Anthony also playing the young Ray Charles in Ray.
The bit with Ruth and her lady friends singing near the end while the camera showed all the different characters was well-done.
Finally, seeing George and Ruth break up was sad. It was obvious that she wanted out and he was oblivious until the very end when she didn’t return immediately with the pots and pans. Having George confront her about it was good and, in a way, was payback considering her plans to end their relationship.
Here’s hoping the rest of the season turns out to be just as good as this episode.

good episode… ruth going george’s fiance was a bit cruel… if not necessary probably good for the fiance… but still, cruel… and for the wrong reasons, I believe
and billy left? did they mention that in the last episode, cuz I must’ve missed it… but that’s one thing I’ve always found rather difficult about the show… how much time passes in the SFU world between or even during episodes… brenda must already be.. what, 20 weeks pregnant?

What’s creepy is I have about 3 people in my office that always say “Riiight” like Dr. Evil did in the third Austin Powers movie. I always give them hell for using cliched movie catchphrases from 3 years ago, but I figured it was just something they did because they’ve been stuck in the same office together for so long. I guess this is a common thing.
