We need a thread for this already. Just pre-ordered it from Microsoft (I know, yuck, but whaddya gonna do?). I’m hoping to still get in on the closed beta which started today, but they’re having some difficulties getting it going.
At any rate, looks like a lot of Chewers are up for this one, so looking forward to plundering with you fools soon.
I’ll cross-post this Multi-Stream here. Enjoying watching this and will absolutely buy it. Unless there is no PS4 controller support since it is a MSFT title…
Talking in Twitch chat a “fleet” probably wont be possible because you won’t be able to necessarily instance to the same server with more than 4.
I’m enjoying that stream immensely (not in a Donald Trump way, either).
A second ship came by theirs, they thought they had run it off, but the intruders left behind a stowaway who went below and blew up their stores. It was hilarious.
It’ll be a shame if that’s true. Seems like the perfect game to have clans / guilds sailing around together.
Fuck it. I’ll head over there now and do the same. Have been putting it off for a variety of reasons (my Amazon Prime subscription renewed this week) but it’ll give me a fancy pirate outfit and the chance to dive into the Beta.
I’m pre-spending a portion of my tax return check myself.
Also, as mentioned, lots of people (me included) are getting a “Too Early” message to get in on the Beta after the game installs, but it’s being addressed supposedly.
I was initially wary of Tzu streaming stuff but, you know what? If we can only get four people at a time on the CHUD ship and I’m not able to get onboard every now and again, I’ll happily watch four of you fuckers rolling around the waves via Twitch instead.
I’ve not bought anything from the Microsoft Store before but, damn, it was unnecessarily complicated. At one point I freaked out, thinking I’d bought the xbox version instead of the PC version.
I’m getting the same “You’re too early” message as nearly everyone else.
Yeah, because they instituted that policy, I think, where you get the PC version of every Xbone game you buy. Once you’ve bought from them at least once, though, it becomes basically one-click buying.
It also sucks that Steam usually doesn’t list Microsoft games if you try to add them through the “Add a Non-Steam Game to Your Library” deal.
Jacob, I’m assuming they’ll fix this by the weekend, so I suggest we continue our streak of playing a different multiplayer game every Saturday. Even if nobody else has picked it up by then, I say we grab one of the small boats and go pottering around looking for gold.
And then, of course, we’ll have the long horrible wait until the game’s actual release in March. Urgh.
Watching a 12-minute stream* of this sold me on this game instantly and I went down to my brick-and-mortar store to pre-order. I got a beta code and will be involved in all sorts of pirate shenanigans tomorrow.
*Not the stream everyone else was watching. In mine, the crew of four successfully figured out where a treasure was, snuck up on two ships at night, sunk one ship, chased the second ship to an island, robbed the other pirate crew of the treasure, only to have their own ship sink in the end.
