While I’m not usually wild about threads for shows or movies that get started 3-4 months before they are actually released, I found this bit of info to be quite interesting. In an interview with TV Guide, Zach Braff revealed there is a plan to have David Cross show up on Scrubs as Tobias Funke.

Ausiello: What’s this I hear about David Cross coming on as his Arrested Development character? Braff: That’s what I’m trying to broker. I’m a huge fan of his and so is Bill, and our idea was that he would play Tobias in an episode. Obviously, we have to get that cleared by a lot of people, like [Arrested creator] Mitch [Hurwitz] and Fox, but that was my pitch. David wants to do it.
Also addressed was the issue of this being Zach Braff’s last year on the show.

Good news on both fronts. I guess Scrubs is going into syndication on Comedy Central soon (this Fall?), so we have that to look forward to in the meantime. I say the show should continue until McGinley wins the Emmy that is long overdue.

Don’t forget the deadly combo of Whitford/Perry. I have a feeling that even though Studio 60 is more of a drama, it’ll wind up in the comedy catagory because of program’s setting.

Yeah, but Garrett’s the lead in that show. McGinley’s in the supporting category.
Yeah, it sounds like there is going to be a musical episode. It will be interesting to see how they pull that off. A bunch of the cast members sang on that one episode in season…two? The one with the lady who needed a heart transplant but died before she could get it.
That was “My Philosophy,” the song was 'Waiting for My Real Life To Begin," and it was seriously one of the most brillant fucking bits of television I’ve ever seen.
Also, in the new EW, Braff says something to the effect that he’s pretty sure this is his last year. The whole “starting a new chapter in my life” thing.

Now there’s a lineup I can be excited about. Office and Scrubs, back-to-back. Finally a contender for best comedy hour on TV that can take on the reigning champion “Daily Show/Colbert Report”.
