I’ve completed two playthroughs of RDR (and besides the Bounties had %100 completion on all the side quests; the genocide I brought down on the wildlife and plant life will never be forgotten), but each time I crossed into Mexico either I had the map up or the game glitched and I have never heard that song in game. I didn’t even know about it until months later when a buddy of mine said that was his favorite part.

I’m currently playing through again at a leisurely pace because of XBONE backwards compatibility so hopefully I’ll be able to experience it this time.

Reminds me of the time I saw Primal Fear in the theater and a storm moved in and the theater lost power right after Edward Norton’s courtroom outburst and Laura Linney had a drink with Gere in the judge’s chambers. For years I had no idea there was another twist at the very end.

I’m gonna play the shit out of this sequel though. With this and a new Mass Effect I’ll have no spare time.

I really wanted a reveal of more gameplay related trailer. Aside from the bow and arrow I don’t get a good sense of what’s new.

Assuming not-Josh Brolin is the main character, he seems a little bland.

Not exactly cutting-edge graphics in this trailer, and I didn’t get a sense of what the over-arching story will be, but yeah, it looks like more RDR.

‘Graphics’ is kind of an inexact term.

What is exceptional here are the animations. There is some high quality stuff being done there, and that’s really the area where we are likely to see the most visual gains in video games over the near future.

Huh. One of the things that stuck out to me were the animations, which I thought still looked kinda jerky and exagerrated.

Maybe I’m just grumpy today, I got like three hours of sleep last night, and I’m over-compensating with caffeine today. I’ll go watch it some more.

They still have time to smooth out the animations. The detail IS amazing. Those environments especially are very, very WOW.

With Dutch there it’s definitely a prequel, which suits me since RDR is very much about the death of the Old West so getting it in it’s prime is very welcome to me. Odds are young John Marston makes a cameo there as well.

“Maybe when your mother is done mourning your father I’ll keep her in black, on your behalf” is also a boss line if I’m being honest.
