Yeah, Matt was pretty busy when the Carver started to do his thing so I don’t think he’d have the time or the ability to pull of those attacks. This is a guy who tried to circumcise himself with horrid results so I don’t think he could be all that precise with the attacks. It also looks like the Carver is also somewhat tall which fits in with Julia’s boy toy.
In a perfect world the Carver would be Joey Slotnick but I guess he’s rotting in jail.

As to the identity of the Carver, I’m on the same page as Mr. Vindictive. I’ve thought it
was Dr. Costa ever since last season. Wasn’t he introduced as working with Doctors
Without Borders, repairing genital mutilations and the like? Wouldn’t seeing such
misery make him hate the world’s pretty people? Although I do now like Fazer’s
theory about Julia’s boyfriend. It would help explain why he was shoehorned
onto this past episode.
The premiere was great, but I’d also like to applaud Sony for coming up with that brilliant marketing idea. Except for the last couple of commercial breaks, they bought up all the ad time and used it to show extended trailers of all their big holiday releases.
Normally, I tend to fast forward through all the commercials via TiVo, but with this episode I watched them all right along with the show.
Pretty good premiere – I think it would have been better if they condensed it to one hour.
I’d rather see Christian work through his issues a little more, and save the couch woman for next week.
But whatever, it’s a great show and I’m glad it’s back. I think it’s too obvious to make the carver turn out
to be Dr. Costas…Interesting picturing Rhona Mita with a strap-on. She did seem to know what truly
happened to him regarding the rape.
This show ain’t half bad. Only have seen last season’s finale and this season’s premiere, but I liked it more than i thought i would. The premiere didn’t need to be 90 min though, and the erotic pop songs they overuse are terrible!
I actually was glad Matt got his ass beat down and pissed on by the drag queens. I understand he has issues he needs to deal with, but what he did to that she-male was just plain wrong. He got away with running over a girl and leaving her on the side of the road to die. It’s time he felt the consequences for some of his actions. well, I guess finding out your first true love was a transvestite could be considered enough payback.
Also that new doc seems a little shady to me. The whole blood ritual joke and the way he seems way too comfortable at the office leads me to believe he’s going to be a problem. I can’t see him lasting more than this season.
Yea for pot! It’s a great way to bond with your family. Loved the scenes with the grandma. She kind of reminds me of Brenda’s mom on Six Feet Under. She’s great.
I don’t get it. They’ll show us a body covered with maggots, a grandma and grandson getting high together, a she-male getting the shit beat out of him/her, and a group of she-males pissing on Matt. BUT THEY WON’T SHOW US THE GORILLA GETTING KILLED! We got the raw end of the deal on that one.
Another mixed bag of perversion on display, culminating nicely with one of the most “hard to argue against” moments of a father hitting his son you’ll ever witness. It was nice to see Sean and Christian have a brief moment of levity when discussing their new partner’s ability to play for both teams.
With all the stuff going on with these characters who the hell is watching Sean’s daughter?
I thought the same thing about the daughter. She’s probably smoking pot with grandma.
That new doc was seriously creeping me out with all his ogling and wierd looks. I thought they were setting him up to be The Carver, but it turns out he’s just bi.
I liked that scene with Christian and Sean as well. I need for them to be friends again. There’s been way too much tension between them and its turning this into a different show.
I hope the actor who played the butt-cheek frat boy got paid. His pale, white ass was onscreen for a really long time. Plus, he had two guys’ faces glued to him!
Since the beginning of the series, when hasn’t there been some tension between Christian and Shawn? Whether it be over Christian’s work ethic vs. Shawn’s, over Julia, or Matt. It’s simply the nature of their relationship. In a lot of ways, they are the flip sides of each other and, thus, complete things that are missing in themselves. That being said, it’s always more fun when they’re getting along. It was pretty awful during last season when Shawn knocked Christian the fuck out, saying, “I loved you the most.” Ultimately, they are brothers… brothers who share porn stars, have kinky three ways with random callgirls, and attempt to detach enormous women from their couches.
Oh yeah, and was anybody else surprised that Shawn and Julia weren’t super-pissed with Christian for prescribing Xanax to Matt even though they had expressly told him that was out of the question?

Just because the new doc is bi, doesn’t mean he isn’t the carver. Frankly, the fact that he is bi only enhances his chances of actually being the carver.
I would imagine though, him being a plastic surgeon himself would have to have some serious psych issues to be doing what he punishes others for trying to attain.
Also, F/X shows everything except the good stuff. Why the hell would Kimber get out of bed and cover her breasts! That is so unnecessary!

That was pretty weak, with as much as they show on the program they could have been more creative with that scene.
I don’t see the new doc being the Carver, I think he probably will end up as a Carver victim before all is said and done.
Hehe, the only other option for Kimber was shooting her from the shoulders up. I prefer their choice.
Remember, despite all their attempts, FX still isn’t quite HBO in every regard…
They’ve pointed us so strongly at the doctor as the Carver that it can’t possibly be him. They expect the unmasking of the Carver to be an “Oh Shit.” moment… if it’s him, that’d be a “No Duh.” moment.
I’m sticking with Julia’s boytoy for now… although I’ll have to give that up if he doesn’t reappear at some point this season. If that brief bit in the opener is the only time we see that character this season, it’d be the weirdest and most unnecessarry cameo I’ve ever seen.
The only problem with the Carver storyline is it has me wanting to fast-forward to the season finale.

Actually I think he’s not the Carver because he fixed Sean’s face. And Sean was attacked for fixing other Carver victim’s faces, so it doesn’t make sense.
I do think Julia’s med school boyfriend may be the Carver. They brought him back for one ep? I don’t think so. They may have brought him in just to force Julia into get a divorce, but I still think something’s up with him.
Especially since it didn’t have to be him w/ Julia in that episode… They could have used any random guy for that kind of scene, but instead made a point of making it sound like he hadn’t really ever left her life… and scheduling that actor had to be more effort than just casting a random playmate for her. If he’s a red herring, he’s a huge one.
