Nip/Tuck Season 4

Easily the best episode of this season. I’m worried, however, about the long term prospects of my Nip/Tuck viewership. Typically when a show goes back to the well (resurrecting an old plot-line or character) it infuses a fresh new vigor, but usually it means that they’ve run out of new interesting directions to take the characters.

There’s been a few too many weird story-lines this year, and I’m not just not diggin’ the show the way I used to. The over-the-top ending to the Carver storyline just didn’t do it for me. Thank you, however, for not exposing me to dwarf man-ass.

I’m glad that they’re not molly-coddling Matt anymore. He’s about the biggest screw-up a kid could ever be, it’s important that he knows it.

This may throw a major twist into the show: source imdb.com -

Richardson Quits US Show To Be with Sick Daughter

British actress Joely Richardson has been forced to put her career on hold to care for her sick daughter. The 101 Dalmatians star has temporarily quit her hit US plastic surgery drama Nip/Tuck to be with her teenage daughter in London as she faces multiple operations to fix a circulation problem in her leg. Richardson tells America’s TV Guide her daughter Daisy was diagnosed with circulation problems when she was born and medics told her parents she’d be in and out of hospital when she hit her teens. The actress says, “Surgeons and hospitals have been a big part of our lives. We were always told that she would have to have more surgeries when she got older. The time has come.” Richardson admits she had no choice when it came to deciding to quit her hit show. She adds, “I love my work but I had to be in two places at once and I thought, ‘If it were all over tomorrow, what would I regret?’ It would be not being there for her.” Richardson fears she’ll never be able to return to Nip/Tuck, but series creator Ryan Murphy is hoping her character Julia McNamara, will be back. He says, “I don’t want to do the show without her.”

Sad, and best wishes to her family…

I heard months ago that she was leaving late this season for personal reasons but they planned on bringing her back next year if she could.

The year is 2026, and an adult Conor McNamara has gathered the family together. For what kind of occasion, I’m not exactly sure. But as this is “Nip/Tuck,” anything can happen.

Ummm… no thanks.

Just when I thought the show might be turning around…

I heard about Joely leaving as well, and honestly I think they’ve done all they can do with her character. Her best moments were in the first few seasons when Christian had to resolve his feelings with her and repair his friendship with Sean. Julia might have gotten more interesting if they stuck with her and her spa, but once they dropped that she returned to being just background filler. No big loss.

I guess in the future everyone wears bad old age makeup… I’d say this was the weakest Nip/Tuck they’ve made to date…

I spent the entire episode expecting Shawn to wake up from that horrible, lame dream… but, nope. Apparently, that was our inexplicable glimpse into the characters’ futures. And, by the way, was the actress playing Annie doing some serious channeling of Jan Brady or what?

And why were there absolutely no ramifications from the criminal corpse laying sprawled on Shawn’s couch? Or was that another one of his halucinations?

Man, Annie was quite possibly the most annoying character I’ve ever seen. I wanted to shoot her in the face.

Wow… that was… horrible.

A new low for this show.

I thought the last scene with Sean and Julia saying goodbye was nice, but everything leading up to that was a waste.

Bring on the return of apeshit Brooke Shields.

Shit, I’d take another round of the botched Carver storyline over this last episode.

Is there still another episode? I just finished watching the one where Christian leaves his apartment to go live with Michelle. That felt like a season finale. And that future was one of the hardest episodes of a TV show I’ve had to sit through. I couldn’t wait for the damn thing to be over.

What the fuck happened to this show?

Yeah, it did feel like a season finale, but I think we have a few more eps yet. Loved the return of “Paper Bag” girl.

I didn’t even remember her. What episode was she in? And where was Gina? Odd she wouldn’t have been with there. Also according to the IMDb we have three more episodes left. I always though this show had 13 episode seasons. I guess that’s just Rescue Me.

That was a little better.

I got a pretty good laugh from Sean as Santa. Especially the freeze frames done as pictures for the kids. He looked completely wrecked in the first picture, and the kid’s face after the “your mom has nice tits” line was great.

Also, can’t say I’ve ever seen Santa getting head inside of Santa’s workshop from a midget elf before on a TV show…

Sean as Santa = Funniest NIP/TUCK ever.

“You want Santa to bring you diabetes, is that it?!”

As soon as Sean offered homeless guy a place to sleep, I figured he’d get harvested.

I agree that the 2026 episode was awful! The only highlight was seeing Julian McMahon with bad old age make-up acting it up like some horny old goof.

Perhaps that is because the actress who played the adult version of Annie played Jan Brady in The Brady Bunch movies of the mid-90s.

The first season had 13 episodes, the second had 16 episodes and the third and fourth seasons both have 15 episodes each.

Finally, an episode worth watching. Drunk Sean was the best. When he asked the elf if she knew Marlo, I knew it would be a rewarding section of the hour. I loved when the chubby little girl asked for chocolate cake and other foods and he said, “How about I just give you diabetes!”

Ack! My DVR doesn’t adjust to the time change by itself and it cut off the last 5 minutes. Can anyone recap?

As for what I saw, this was a great ep. As mentioned numerous times, drunk Santa Sean was freakin’ hilarious.

Loved the return of Wilbur. The reveal of his birth was what solidfied my allegiance to the show, so its good to be reminded of twists that were clever and not just bizarre for bizarro-sake.

I swear Matt has morphed into Michael Jackson.

And is that g-spot enhancer procedure real? 'Cause that seems like something everyone woman should be required to get done (minus drunken docs putting in too much sensitivity juice)!

Hmmmm, interesting. Good job, my subconscious associations.

What made it even funnier was that, I believe, he then referred to Marlo as “Julia’s elf”.

Diva, I’m not sure what all was in the last 5 minutes alone, so this might be a bit repetitive for you: Shawn took Reefer to his office to repair Reefer’s face which had been mangled in a bum fight. While there, the two reconciled and Shawn invited Reefer to bed down at McNamara/Troy for the night. Unfortunately, the only other occupant was James, who had been informed that she needed to step up her organ harvesting quotient. Thus, Goodbye, Reefer. Michelle, who’s decorating a real old fashioned Christmas tree with Christian and Wilber, gets a phone call from James to meet her at the office. Upon her arrival she finds Reefer having been flayed upon the operating table, with all of his major organs (excepting his liver which is shot) harvested. In order to avoid embroiling herself and Christian in further hijinx, she agrees to help James dispose of the body. The two hack up the remains and pack them in Santa’s sack. Then disguised as Santa’s helpers (using Shawn’s Santa costume), the two leave, evading the FBI by informing them that they were simply taking toys to the children’s ward of the local hospital. Cut back to Shawn, who’s packing up his brown Brooks Bros. suits for Reefer and decorating his tree (see also “Baby’s First Christmas” ornament and general weepiness). Christian and Wilber (who will probably never watch “The Santa Clause” in quite the same way after witnessing Shawn’s kinky hijinx in Santa’s workshop) show up to spend some quality time and, thus, the true family within the Nip/Tuck world is restored.

Sorry if that was a little long-winded.
