Heroes Volume Three

I’m no Heroes apologist, a little perspective is necessary though. Both are pretty terrible.

Affleck wouldn’t have left his Irish girl in the fake future.

No.

You have no clue what you’re talking about. Armageddon, Terminator, Prison Break all have something going for them: they entertain. Action happens. Something happens.

The only thing happening in Heroes is a colossal list of failures.

Nice avatar.

It’s weird. Terminator is about a tenth as dumb as Heroes and twice as entertaining. Prison Break is ten times dumber than Heroes and ten times more entertaining but I could only tolerate a few episodes of it. It’s so stupid it becomes distracting. I was never bored but it has that Heroes problem where characters contradict themselves every episode and all the decisions everyone makes are dictated by the plot, a very, very, very, very stupid plot. Here’s something that’s never been said in the writer’s room of Heroes:

“Does this track emotionally? Would that character actually make that decision?”

This is one of those things, like Boondock Saints, where I’ll be chatting film/entertainment/TV with someone and suddenly have to restrain the immense urge to slap the shit out of them. For example:

Me: “blah blah blah, Lost is awesome, blah blah blah”
Idiotstick: “Oooooooooooooh, have you ever seen Heroes?”
Me: *boiling rage*

The anger is an exaggeration obviously, but my god, I hate those situations. Because you can’t explain why you hate it without coming off like some “upper class twit” who knows more than everyone about entertainment.

They lost me halfway through season two. They’re not getting me back until I hear some glowing reviews.

And Armageddon is as bad as Heroes. Pretty pictures don’t make it a better story. Armageddon, however, is over in a couple of hours. Heroes just keeps on going. Advantage: Armageddon.

Well, your rock solid evidence of ‘how entertained the audience is’ has convinced me.

All I’m trying to say is people in glass houses and such and such.

Pissing on Heroes is easy. Like beating the crap out of a retarded child. In his sleep. Only justified.

But since when has Armageddon become the rally point to celebrate mediocrity over blatant failiure?

Somewhere along the line, it became the movie for retarded people that non-retarded people decided it was okay to declare “awesome”.

Sorry, guys, but liking that movie is still retarded. I don’t care how the vote went in your meeting.

edit:
My apologies to retards.

Goddammit, I never bribe the right people. Next meeting we will recount and then we’ll see BAD BOYS 2 victorious at last.

Well put, good sir. It’s one thing if something is stupid. It’s another if something is stupid and dull.

Sounds like you would love Prison Break! But don’t take my word for it…

No, they’re both one thing: stupid. Stupid is a bad thing.

I’m trying to figure out how someone with a Scott Pilgrim avatar can be such a dick.

So identifying a shitty movie for what it is makes one a dick? Getting a bit religious about this, aren’t we?

Sorry, I just think that anyone who declares love for one piece of shit lacks conviction when calling out another. It means that your tastes are random.

I saw the first episode of season 3 at Comic-Con, and while it’s certainly not quality television, it at least moves faster than anything in season 2.

However, anyone sick of magical healing/resurrections is gonna be PISSED. The entire premiere feels like Tim Kring just making shit up and throwing it at a wall to see if it’ll stick. Some of it inevitably will, no matter how little sense it makes.

Armageddon’s not a piece of shit. You’re confused.

Just think, Greg: is there ever going to be a Criterion Heroes set?

I’m subscribing to this thread just to make sure I get this line of vitriol for the show every week.

Oh, joy.
I will watch it in hopes that it loses the angst completely. If it became just an excuse for people with superpowers beating each other up, I would be cool with that. Even if nobody is dead permanently, that would be fine, as lond as SOMETHING HAPPENS. It seemed like they too often found excuses to avoid using the powers. Also, IGNORE THE FANS. The fans of this show are fucking morons.
If it can’t get better, there’s always Chuck.
