I have seen several regular ads. Looks like some good stuff.
The ads confuse me. Are they setting the whole season in the 1950’s. Or just one episode.
based on the static floating ad i saw, where they seemed to be dressed by prada or something uber sleek and modern, id guess one episode, but i have no idea and havent seen the ad youre referring to obviously.
Well, it looked like the cast was changing up at the end of last season, the lack of ads could be for a ‘reboot’ of the show. I hope that hot chick who was diggin on Carter returns as a regular and they didn’t touch Morton or the guy who plays Fargo…
Very excited about tonights episode.
I was confused about the time period as well. I think the 50’s one Paul is talking about were the teasers they started showing about two months back.
I think they will be working Zoey and Tess back in for a couple episodes each since both their new tv shows were cancelled(“Hank” with Kelsey Grammer lasted three episodes and “Eastwick” lasted a few more, no idea if it finished it first season).
What a great opener. Funny, well done and the “twist” at the end was excellent. Haven’t enjoyed this show that much in a while.

Ditto…this was a great episode. A fantastic way to start the season.
I know it has to happen, but I hope we get to see more than a couple of episodes with “Grant”.
Yeah, that reminded me of the terrific season 1 finale… back when I thought this show had the chance to be something special. Great to see it get off to such a fun and interesting start.
Still getting used to Baltar’s voice. I saw his part of the ending coming a mile away, but even as someone who didn’t care that much for BSG, I recognize what a good get it is to have him on Eureka for a bit longer.
The other part of the ending was a big surprise though. I really hope they don’t undo it at all. That would have so much potential for angst, freshness, and real scifi mind-bending.
It’s also a good opportunity to bring Stark back (though it’s possible Grant can have the same chemistry with Carter that he did). The show kind of went downhill after they killed him off.
Pretty good for the opener. Although leaving it open like that (especially since they will probably get a fix in the next episode) I would have just done a 2 hour opener.
Yeah the twist with Grant was pretty much laid out word for word when they realized he had Carter’s phone. The only question is did he do it on purpose or was it an accident.
He is a founder of Eureka. My guess is he did it on purpose. He said as much during the episode.

And I have to disagree with paul and teitr.
Paul, i really think this is the season arc… every other season has had a similarly apparent arc, and frankly its a great idea and way to accomplish shaking everything up, both relationships and the world around them (not to mention bring back the hot redhead and stark). All this seems too complicated to just reverse on(alsion, joe, henry, and jack all have relationship changes, not to mention whatever else is differnet about time and history), but the shows done it before, so who knows… oh i saw baltars in a print ad for eureka so i think hes here to stay, not to mention all the ads talking about how this season is shaking things up. I doubt theyd do that for two episodes.
And teitr/paul, I dont think he did it on purpose. He seems to be a very smart man, and would probably get his importance in the time hes in and causal relationships/ramifications (e.g. his town, success and the whole universe might all disappear if he went forward).
Also he could have just taken the phone if he wanted, but chose to give it back to alison.
Finally, jack is the one who left it in the coat, how was he to know it was in there when jack gave it to him, and until hed left or the dance floor was surrounded by soldiers (not to mention it probably weighs about as much as a nickel)?
Plus he was essentially a good guy the whole episode without any real “bad” in him, save the misunderstanding in the beginning… and he was first and only convert, too.
Did anyone see scenes from the next or anything? was it “this season on” or “next week on”, cause if its the former we might have an answer to the reversal/two episode thing.
RE: zooey, i bet she is coming back too, as jack said in the first few minutes harvard was just getting out or some nonsense

But Grant was the one that said they needed to switch coats. He may have seen Carter putting it in his coat and since he was flipping out over the technology. He may have been willing to screw over Carter in favor of himself.
It did say next week and showed all sorts of shit blowing up and Henry talking about fixing the space time continum. But I have read this morning that they are doing a “sort of” reboot of the show. So maybe I was wrong. Or maybe they send Grant back but the changes stick.
I don’t think he is a bad guy. I just think he was taking the opportunity put in front of him to go to the future.

Man, such a fantastic episode! Loved every second of it! Those final seconds were so heartbreaking! Allison’s son is no longer autistic.. How could she possibly want to change back to the past?
Dig the Grant addition, hopefully it isn’t wrapped up next episode. BTW, LOVED the Tess return!!!
I enjoyed the first season enough, but the past few seasons have been pleasant background noise for me, nothing more. That said, I was really impressed with this opener, and I hope this arc continues throughout the season.
Missed the first few minutes of this when it aired, and just watched them on Hulu. WTF with having Tess break-up with Carter in 20 seconds as part of the ‘previously on’ recap? Season 3 ended with Carter with a plane ticket to Australia and on the phone with Alison (presumably about to request vacation time). They couldn’t dedicate a full scene of the premiere to the break-up? That’s going to bug the shit out of me all season.
Yeah, that was strange. I wasn’t sure if it was the last previously, or if it was the first scene of the show. If it was the first scene, it was damn quick. If it was a previously, I don’t remember it.
