They generally stick to dealing with games that are receiving US distribution at E3, correct? I read at Kotaku that Sony WILL be discussing Loco Roco next week. I’m hoping that basically confirms a US release.

Well, Loco Roco did get some Pre-E3 coverage that sounded like a US confirmation. I think the only thing up in the air (other than an exact date) was if the US or UK would get it first.
The last time I was at E3 is was mostly (if not all) U.S. releases.

Only in the two main halls (South and West), where the Big 3 and the popular 3rd parties are located. There’s a section called Kentia Hall that’s basically where the obscure and eccentric foreign game distributors are.

I always get a kick out of going there because, while there are some annual staples (German, Korean, and Russian game publishers/distributors), there’s always products/games that are so weird/stupid they’ll never see the light of day in any country. Like the one company that had a guy wearing a motion sensor on his forehead and was using it as a FPS controller…
Plus there are a lot of foreign Booth Babes that have never been to the U.S./Los Angeles before and want to see the city. And they’re not nearly as jaded a lot of their American counterparts in the larger halls…
Uh, did I mention that they have weird games there too?

My review copy arrived this morning. It’s fun, and kinda weird. Turning into giant Mario is crazy, since you just knock over pipes and even the flagpole. And thank god, the only touch screen use I’ve seen so far is that you can store an extra mushroom pickup, and activate it by tapping the lower right corner of the touch screen.
**Edit: But don’t get TOO excited – it’s basically Super Mario World again. So far. Not that such a thing is bad, mind you.

If I remember correctly, didn’t some parents name their kid Turok for this? They could change it back, but they had to keep it for 24 hours when the game was released… least that’s how I remember it…

Last time I went to E3 was for the debut of the PS2 through UCLA tv credentials…it would only be fitting to go for the debut of the ps3.

well i’ll be getting all my E3 info from AOTS and my xbox 360.
I’m interested in seeing if sony steps up to the plate and delivers…very interested in seeing the new controler(or if they just went back to the old dual shock)
can’t wait to see what the wii has to offer…yeah it’s a dumb name but I though xbox was a stupid name 3 years ago…bought one anyways.
And then of course there is Microsoft. Lot of stuff suppose to come to the marketplace this week…Lost planet and Moto GP demos. Maybe a halo 3 trailer…And UNO on the arcade. I expect them to be overshadowed by Sony and Nintendo but that’s a given since they’ll be showing of their new systems while Microsoft is already 6 months out of the gate.
Probably the most interested i’ve been in E3 in years.
