I’ve been attending the show regularly since the 1st one in 1995. Other than the PSP and DS, the last few years haven’t really been that interesting. But I’m actually somewhat excited this year because for the first time ever, Sony and Nintendo will be releasing new console systems simultaneously. Which means the booths will be a lot more exciting than usual.
Also, they’re being a lot stricter this year woth who they let in. No more part-time or full time Best Buy/GameStop employess are permitted - just managers. That means I won’t have to worry about young Johnny Playtester cluttering up the floor and getting in my way.
Unless someone pays me to go and work on a film crew there, looks like I will miss it this year. I am hoping my son’s godfather get’s to gothis year since he now works for IGN. Would be nice to play with the swag he sends his godson.
I would have to say this should be an exciting year with the new consoles out. Although, the older I get, the more I get excited for the Game Developers Conference rather than E3.

They’re supposed to be Booth Babes this year; it’s just that they’ll have an article or two more of clothing than usual.
I’ll be blogging and podcasting for Yahoo, but will try to drop good news tidbits here, too. Not that there’ll be anything I can report before the GameSpot/IGN legion of update monkeys gets to it first.
Just make sure when Sony announces the PS3 price, you’re in the back of the room, with a clear route to the exit. Or up front, carrying the noose, oil, and torch.

That’ll be Monday sometime after 4, which is when their press briefing starts. I’ll be there.
The amusing line from the invite: “Be sure to bring your PSP for access to downloadable game demos, art and information.”
The first free stuff! E3! Free E3 stuff! Whooooo0o00oo00oo!
I’m hoping that someone will top Microsoft’s awesomely bad press conference from last year, but I doubt it.
I don’t suppose you’ll get a chance to check out the new Nintendo controller, but I’d love to hear first impressions if you do manage to use the controller.
They’ll probably make you update to 2.7 first so if you’re a homebrew guy, that free stuff is out the window. In a perfect world, they’d make those demos and things available to Joe Public on the interwebs after the press conference.
The only things I really want to hear about immediately are hands-on Wii impressions, a confirmed US release of Loco Roco, and the Guitar Hero 2 set list.
