Slater, check your local game store. They are supposed to ship with the regular versions (ala HALO 2). I have actually had DOOM 3 for Xbox on reserve at my local GameStop for months now. When I found out about the “Collector’s Edition” I went in and asked if my reserved copy can be for the CE. They said, “no problem”.
Just put my pre-order in for the Doom 3 CE today at EB. Release date is now April 4th (although I think I saw that mentioned somewhere else..). Ohh well, gotta wait more then a month to kill some hell-spawn, then get destroyed in some CTF matches..
Yeah I didn’t get much confirmation when I picked up Brothers in Arms either. The guy was very unsure but eventually muttered something about April 4th. I guess thats ok tho…I have Brothers in Arms now, Mercenaries to revisit, Area 51 coming very shortly and then finally Doom 3…its a nice pacing.
Just figured I’d bring this back up for now since it’s more or less time appropriate. I did some trade ins at EB last week so hopefully I can go pick this up at lunchtime today. Between this, the new Splinter Cell, and my recent introduction to Xbox Live, I don’t know what to play… ugh. Too much going on, no t enough time.
But it’s all good. i’m really looking forward to playing Doom 3. And the included versions of the older games is a sweet bonus.
Crap, that’s today, isn’t it? Since Tuesday is release day for DVDs, I had it in my head that this would be out tomorrow, not today. I’ve got some trade ins I want to do to Gamestop before I get it. But I’ve been playing Mercenaries non-stop and am really starting to get into it, so I think I’m going to try and wait out a used copy of the game at Gamestop so I can use my card on it as well. I’ll rent the game and try it out until I buy a copy.
