Wow. Thinking back on it everything fits. I remember in the first episode when Daniel met with Wayne and I didn’t really think about it back then. Good twist there.
This show is fucking humming. LOST is probably the only thing I look more forward to watching right now.

This last episode really elevated my expectations for this season. Now I really can’t wait to see how things unfold. The look on Patty’s face at the end of the courtroom scene has me really worried for Daniel’s health.
It took it’s time (as it did last season) but it’s getting somewhere.
The final 5 minutes were great and set up a lot of great things in the near future.
I’ll keep watching for now!

Can you or someone else please elaborate? I think there must have been an issue with DirecTV’s FX feed, and I thought the episode ended in an oddly abrupt manner. Wes shoots someone at the very end of the episode?
What I saw? There’s the scene where Wes asks if he can stay with Ellen for a day, or two or three, etc. Then there is a cut to a daytime scene with Wes and a car. That lasted for just a fraction of a second before it cut to a “Damages FX online” promo.
A gun shot (silenced) comes from inside the car and the windsceen shatters slightly as the bullet goes through (with a mist of blood on the windscreen too). Then Wes steps out and walks off.
It did end abruptly. I’m loving Olyphant here.
Also much to love in the Wire’s reunion. Rawls and Lester!
And Patty didn’t try to have Ellen killed! It was the old dude!

Patty ordered the old dude to have Ellen killed. Patty just doesn’t know that the would-be assassin who the old dude contracted to do the deed is still alive.

The killing appears to be part of the flash forward that we get snippets of. The glare on the windshield makes it impossible to tell who was inside. After watching that a scene a couple you can barely just see a head but that’s it. No way to tell who it is, just speculate.
And Olyphant is probably working with/for Frobisher as he met with the bearded guy from last season who turns out to be a crooked cop. The twists on this show just keep coming. I love it!

Which makes Ellen a double target. Frobisher probably thinks she’s after him. And I doubt the cop will have a problem killing Ellen to save his ass as Frobisher would sell him out.

I think Wes is killing his cop buddy that was working with Frobisher. He’s doing it to save her because he’s fallen for her or working with her now.

Loved that speech Frobisher gave to the oil exec. about Patty, (paraphrasing) “Don’t fuck with that woman, she comes after you, bend over and take it like a man.”
I am wondering if William Hurt’s character is now out of the picture. He screwed over Patty and got paid off, I suspect someone may be coming after him to keep from spilling his guts if his conscience gets the better of him.
I’m guessing Hurt somehow finds out that his wife was alive and he didn’t actually kill her. Then he goes back to Patty. But of course since it’s Damages I will be 100% wrong.
I just have to say that I should have watched S1 again before this season started. I forgot about the other killer cop and I’m wondering what else I forgot about from last year.
I don’t think you hire Bill Hurt (especially in Damages) to turn out for a few opening episodes and then disappear for the last load. There’s still some major bombs coming that’ll draw him back in, I’m sure.
Anyone else get a sense of a Shield-like scene when the crooked bearded cop from S1 shot dead the other crooked cop after he realized he was going to be investigated by IAD??
I’m not really in the know about stocks and that whole shorting or whatever it is that traders do. Does anyone have any idea what Kendrick has planned?

Kendrick is worse that Frobisher. The guy appears to be a complete sleaze. I honestly don’t know what the guy has planned. I think the coordinates he keeps giving to Darrel Hammond have something to do with an address or where he has to meet someone. It can be a little confusing but as the season progresses we get more and more answers to the puzzle. I guess its a lot like LOST…or not.
So now we know who Ellen has in her hotel room. I really didn’t see that coming and I’m wondering if it isn’t just some type of set-up.
And who would have thought that Patty had so much heart. I really love that they are showing this side of her. It seems like Ellen is losing her humanity while Patty is opening up much more.
