ACount me in for Alan Wake.
I tried playing Enslaved, but HATED the girl that controlled my character so much that I killed that ungrateful bitch every chance I got (and then died). Whatever happend to the old standby of a girl asking for help?

Completed my second Alan Wake runthrough not terribly long ago (on “Nightmare” difficulty), and wasn’t planning on doing a third so soon, but was thinking about doing the two additional DLC episodes and American Nightmare this summer-ish.
Might be up for this much, if the group decides to go there.
Keep throwing games out there, guys. I’ll be opening up a new poll come next Monday.
Sorry Singer and Rain Dog, though: I’m voting Bayonetta.
Just finished Bayonetta last night; I’ll keep my pie hole shut about it and if it’s chosen I can put my .02 in then.
I know people are burned out on Arkham but I woudn’t mind a bit of groupthink on the first one.
Still liking the idea of Enslaved, and Bayonetta would be cool as I never finished it the first time, but I’m also up for Witcher 2 as well. I’m picking it up this week and won’t be too far into it when the next month starts, and with the EE being added to the PC version as well it seems like good timing.

Okay that would be incredibly easy for me as any game I play for the club will be competing with Witcher 2 anyway.
Either way tho I reckon I will get a gaming diary thread going for that one a la Bioshock so I reckon it’ll get a good discussion workout regardless.
Damn, no chance of Vanquish? ive yet to play that one, and ive already played the hell out of Bayonetta
I’d like to jump on this. I’m usually a casual gamer, but providing a forum for discussion would help take me out of my apathy. And I like the emphasis on cheap games.
Below are some suggestions for now or the future.
X-Men Origins Wolverine – Heard it’s a pretty good hack and slash game
Dead Space – Might be too old, but I haven’t played it
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – The last 3D Castlevania game I played was on the N64, and it was absolute ass.
I would love some help with the trickier parts of Dead Space.
These are all great suggestions.

Ive played them all, and I can say all are good choices; Dead Space is the standout of the three, so i’d go with Wolverine (which is so violent and crazy fun its disscusion would be the equivalent of a B-action movie thread) or Castlevania (Because while its pretty damn great and broke the curse of the series 3D efforts, its still a bit controversial to old school gamers because of its twist and development cycle; game wasnt a Castlevania title at all on its beginings).
Or we could go really old school and go with the Sega Genesis collection; its cheap and both on PS3 and X360, and it would be fun to take a trip to the past.
Hey if we’re going with cheap games, I’m sure we can all find copies of Jericho for a song!
No?
…Guys?
AHow about Darksiders?
Since the sequel was announced I had an urge to check out the first game.

Enough people have played (or, rather, SHOULD have played) Dead Space to ace it out.
Wolverine’s fun as hell, there just really isn’t much to discuss there. It’s a pretty straightforward “fuck up anything that moves” kinda game.
Lords of Shadow’s a fine pick, though. And it’ll give me an excuse to throw down money for those two DLC episodes I never got to.

I got this on the cheap, but haven’t even played it yet because I’d have to disconnect my flightstick setup in order to use keyboard and mouse on it. I’d love to give it a go.

I tried playing that one, just out of love for “Undying”, but I really couldnt handle more than a couple hours; its a shame, because if the game had online coop multiplayer, it would had been a much more awesome animal; seriously, squad based supernatural multiplayer FPS? It would had been fun as hell to play, given the diferent abilities and variety of the squad.

The DLC isnt worth it unless you really, really were left hanging by the post credits scene in the original game; it explains a few things, but in terms of gameplay, it doesnt really add much to the overall experience; I think it can be safely bypassed if we choose the game; Lords of Shadow, in terms of plot, gameplay and style has enough material to talk about, specially for fans of the classic Castlevanias and veteran survivors of previous 3D games in the series (although i never had a problem with the PS2 games, but Lords of Shadow is the pinnacle of the series when it comes to 3D).
Hell, we could really go old school and pick Symphony of the Night, since its cheap and pretty much on every platform in a digital form.

This is a fantastic idea as well.
Symphony of the Night? Hell yes. I just saw it on my 360 the other day and thinking it was high time for a revisit.
I’ve shamefully never played that one. I’d be down for some old school 2D Castlevania.
