Season 1 was, at least, which is why it aired in the UK 6 months before the US premiere. Not sure if this has continued to be the case with seasons 2 and 3.
I’m digging everything about the show, but the music still has yet to impress.
I love the drum beats when they move into battle, but the main theme and some of the others are just there.

Plus getting pre-empted, put on hiatus and just generally fucked with. If by off chance it did hit, it would get cramped down our throats ala Friends and thus the love affair would be over.
It just seems way too late in the game for the show to move to another network.
Let them mess with something like Psych.
If they do show it on NBC, it would probably just be repeats. They did that with the mini-series, and I do recall Psych repeats being shown on NBC for a while.

On the weekend, yes… but Psych would have a better chance of getting a broader audience if they moved it to the network all together.
The NBC thing won’t happen. They tried it once when BSG was about 2 full ratings points more popular every friday and it tanked hard. They’re not gonna do it again. It’s got its niche home and it’s comfy there
Also, apparently Ron Moore’s Wife has posted over at the scifi.com boards and said the network, the production company, everyone is just fine with the numbers, and not once has there been any sort of cancellation talk. That’s not to say they (Ron and Eick) don’t think about it, and don’t stress the numbers still, but the network is looking at it from this standpoint: We’ll take the hit in numbers in trade for the increase in prestige.
So for now, the only people actively talking about cancellation are the fans.

Another classic hour of television. The way things are going maybe we will see a real argument or even a fist-fight between Adama and Tigh. Not as awesome as last week, but still good TV.
Well, last week’s episode was pretty much impossible to beat.
Tigh was awesome. I felt bad for Gaeta, but I also could totally feel where Tigh was coming from.
I’m having an internal debate - about the circle - and I’ll be vague so as not to spoil people who stumble in here before seeing it. I can’t quite tell if I’m relieved or a bit angry about how the Circle came about. It seems like it was easier to tie up with the circumstances surrounding its creation.
Hmmm.
Also, are there no psychiatrists/psychologists/therapists anywhere in the Fleet?
Galactica could definitely use some help in that department.

Great ep. I liked how resigned Gaeta was to his fate, even though he’s not a traitor. I was kinda puzzled at Roslin’s final decision.
Is Zarek still VP, or did he give that up at the end.

She is instituting a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, like the one set up in South Africa.
It is a way to side-step the recrimination and potential bloodshed and acrimony prosecutions would possibly create while trying to find some justice by finding out the truth. I think it is a smart idea, especially with a population that is so ready to explode.
Other than that, I thought it was kind of a meh episode, something I haven’t seen in my short Battlestar experience.
I dunno, I found the episode almost as tense as last weeks, without the benefit of space battles to aid the thing. I was pretty clenched up throughout most of it, first at the sad, pathetic pleading Jammer did, and then during the relentlessly unnerving scenes on the baseship, and then the instant Gaeta’s folder was dropped on the table to the end, pretty much non-stop, constantly rising tension.
I knew Tigh and the Old Man were going to have a fractured friendship for awhile, and I knew Gaeta was gonna be the wedge–I just didn’t think it’d happen that quickly. And it’s still unresolved, and according to Moore’s podcast, will play out over a couple episodes, too. Tigh is PISSED, and he’s still not quite back from the edge, exemplified best by his head-slamming that one guy into the table and then almost kindly smiling at him to tell him what a good man he is. Flick of a switch.
And Kara is JUST as fucked up, if not moreso. She pretty much saved Gaeta’s life merely BECAUSE she wanted to kill him and see him brought low like Leoben brought her low. Otherwise he would have gotten flushed. And now she’s pretty much kissed off Anders and been shown what the path she wants to take will lead to. And yet she still might trudge down it. And I haven’t watched it a 2nd time–but when she’s talking to Anders outside the jury room–is the CYLON THEME playing? Not the hard xylophone hits, but the soft strings that underscore it? It almost sounded like it. Not that I think they wanted the viewer to think she’s a cylon, but it’s a very subtle way to indicate how fucked her mindstate is at that point.

I’m amazed by this. Did the people who watched Pt 1 not have any inkling of what was coming? Personally, I couldn’t wait for Pt 2!

Wow, they sure dragged their feet on Jammer’s fate, didn’t they? Just like last week with Ellen dying very early in the episode, this was something I thought would be built up to, but damn if it wasn’t effective as hell as their opening. It really set things up so that you actually thought it was possible for Gaeta to buy it as well. And there was so much tension in his interrogation scene – you keep waiting for some little tidbit to slip out so that Tyrol makes the connection, and even though deep down I knew it was coming, it was unbearable waiting for it to happen.
Kara and Tigh are deeply damaged – Kara’s line about just wanting to hurt someone really rang true, and Tigh is obviously turning his guilt over having had to kill Ellen into a justification to keep on killing those he perceives as traitors. I really don’t think this is going to stop just because Roslin got all conciliatory.
This ep proves that they don’t need exploding basestars and atmospheric drops to create a gripping hour of television.
Anyone else notice how beat to shit the outside of Galactica was? I was glad to see they showed the ship after the abuse it took last week.
Also, like I mentioned in an earlier thread, the Cylons have Basestars up the ass. If they ever get enough near Galactica there is no way the humans survive.
And this has nothing to do with the show itself, but I’ll be damned if Cylon Xena isn’t the best looking woman on TV.
