I was at first pissed that I have to wait until Saturday to watch this episode, but since Kingdom Hospital starts tonight, I can watch both!!!
And since Angel is off for the next 5 (!!!) weeks, I get to watch both shows - Kingdoms mini-series run and then Angel when it returns (blowing off Smallville while Angel is off - maybe that will show the WB how important Angel is to Wednesday nights - ONE viewer not watching the lead in show since the other is not on)
Alright, well I just heard the radio promo for the show and a man, who sounded like Knox, was professing his love saying “I worship you” towards a possessed Fred. Possessed Fred said something to the effect of “I know you do.” Then a… grunt/groan from said male, that didn’t sound to good.
If I heard this all correctly, then this is a typical move in the Whedonverse.
I wonder where ‘upgrade man’ fits into this, is he a follower like Knox or acting on behalf of the senior partners? Really looking forward to angry Wes, he slips so comfortably into that role I wonder if there’s any coming back this time.
When I saw that Illyria’s temple got trashed, I had a sneaking suspicion of what they were gonna do.
And then they did it.
I was wondering how Fred getting “possessed” was going to tie into this season’s theme of “compromise with the forces of evil”. And now we know. Illyria joining the cast.
Fucking brilliant.
Love that they dealt with the idea of Fred coming back, what with characters getting constantly resurrected on this show. And for all the heart-tugging montages, I still won’t discount the possibility of Fred coming back…somehow…maybe Illyria turns INTO Fred…I dunno. There’s gotta be *some* kind of a happy ending re: this whole situation.
Evil Acker is even better than Evil Hannigan. There were some shots of her just staring that freaked me out.
I hear ya Prankster, I love how they consciously made a note of death not being final in their world. It was a good little moment for all the fans that know how these shows inside and out. I really hope there is some possible way for Fred to get back, however, I don’t see it happening.
Best moment of the night, Wes stabbing Gunn, and then telling Angel he missed his vital organs.
Not as good as Hole in the World, but still a good one, too bad there are only six eps left, and five weeks until more.
Jesus Christ. What are the odds of two of the most emotionally brutal episodes ever airing back to back? This arc is gonna be devestating on DVD.
Wes kicked seven types of ass tonight. My respect for Dennisoff continues to grow. And Acker has never looked hotter.
So much greatness…Knox’s exit from the show. The slow motion escape from Wolfram & Hart, all taking place before Angel hit the ground. Half of a Fredtit. Wes’s double-barrelled badassness. The look on Gunn’s face when Wes slid the knife into him. Spike’s reason for sticking around L.A. That final scene between Illyria and Wes.
This isn’t fair, not in the slightest. This show is too fucking good to die in two months.
Well I guess those who thought this was a replay of Cordy/Jasmine will have to reconsider. No army of hell is coming.
I kinda wanted to see Wes kille Gunn but I have a feeling Gun will get his.
This Wes/Illyria could be great and I have full faith in ME to pull it off. I only wish they had an extra season to take on the Senior Partners at W&H.
