With this show, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was an attempted murder.
Yes. She was too wishy-washy. She tried to leave once when Jack said he wouldn’t shoot her and then again when he started to fall asleep. She had no loyalty to him.
Who else thought she enjoyed it? She had a smug grin on her face. I guess that could’ve been because she got the phone, but c’mon, we know she and Jack haven’t been getting along to well.

I must say, last week I was questioning how they could possibly sustain this show, but it keeps getting better and better as Jack digs himself deeper in deeper into a hole. Boy it’s damn fun watching him scramble to get out of it.

Last night at the end the announcer said that in two weeks there would be the next 12 consecutive episodes…so there’s 13 more weeks.
Question: Does anybody recall at what “hour” the show began? Did it begin at the midnight hour or did it begin at 9 or 10?
I could go to the FOX website but…

As wacko as CHUD can get this is a place of sanity compared to elsewhere. The 24 board makes AICN look like a Zen Garden.

There are 12 consecutive weeks of 24 coming up starting two weeks from last night. It’s now “9:00AM”. Therefore we should expect a cliff-hanger break before the last three episodes, perhaps?

Great ep! Hiding under the car sequence was tres suspenceful.
However, wouldn’t the fire alarm be going off throughout the building near the end? If the elevators reset to the first floor, then I think there would have been a little more comotion on the ground level.

We have discussed the first half of the season ad nuseum, but you can get an understanding of what is happening. I have a feeling there’s only good stuff ahead!

Well Seabass, if you believe the commercials, they say it’s worth jumping in the show right now. Honestly, what you missed was just setting up the plot. I just reread the previous thread and almost everybody we talked about there aren’t major players anymore. Now’s when everything is really starting to pick up.
I’ll give a quick summary for your benefit, but also it will help me to make sense of what’s going on.
Overall Plot: It is the morning of the Presidential Primary. Jack Bauer got a tip that there is a hit on Senator Palmer and that it is up to him to make sure it doesn’t happen. Jack is also told that people within the CIA are in on it, so he should trust no one.
Subplots:

Jack’s wife and daughter are kidnapped. Up until recently, it was unknown whether the kidnapping was related to the hit on Palmer. We now know it is.

Palmer’s son is accused of murdering a man who raped his sister. Unbeknownst to him, Plamer’s wife and lawyer has know about this for 7 years and have covered it up. Palmer has been warned that the media is going to break the story, so he is determined to break it first so he can control the message. It is causing conflict between him and his wife because she disagrees with that strategy and will do anything (even go against her husbands wishes) to keep it from coming out.
**Here’s what we know about the players:
Jack** – His wife and kid have been kidnapped by Gaines. He confided in Nina and Jamey about the conspiracy that the CIA may be in on the Palmer hit as well as the fact that his family was kidnapped. He is currently on the lam because Tony got suspicious of Nina and Jack acting shady all the time and told the CIA that Jack was “comprimised” and that he could not be trusted.
Nina – Used to have an affair with Jack, but is now seeing Tony. Is the only link Jack has to information at the CTU and is willing to help him with anything he needs.
Tony – Had little to do for many episodes except leer jealously at Nina and Jack. However, he has finally been let in on the conspiracy and is working with Nina to help Jack find his family.
Jamey – Was one of the first people Jack trusted. However it turns out she was working for Gaines all along. Tony caught onto her lies and when he and Nina finally confronted her, Jamey refused to give up any info. Jamey is currently dead of an apparent suicide and Gaines does not yet know about it.
Gaines – Bad guy who is setting up Jack to murder Palmer. He is using Jack’s family as collateral to get Jack to do his bidding. We just found out last episode that Gaines is just a hit man for hire.
The Drasen brothers – We know little about them other than they hired Gaines to do their dirty work. Apparently, killing Palmer by using Jack is a personal vendetta rather than a business thing.
Ted Coffel – We also know little about him other than he provided the money the Drasen bros used to pay Gaines. Currently, Jack has kidnapped Coffell so we shall hopefully find out more info in tonight’s episode.
David Palmer – Senator running for presidential office. Many think the hit on him is because he is the first black person to have a real chance at winning the race. The info we just found out about the Drasen bros may prove otherwise.
Sherri Palmer – Is very ruthless when it comes to protecting her family. As of yet she has had little to do, but as the rape storyline develops, I forsee he character getting more airtime.
Terri – Jack’s wife. We know that she and Jack have just reunited after being split up for a while. Is currently held hostage at Gaine’s ranch.
Kim – Jack’s daughter. She is also held hostage by Gaines. She has made a connection with one of the kidnappers who tried to help her escape once already. He may prove to be helpful later on.
Milo – Computer tech who was brought in to take over for Jamey.
Alberta Green – New character just introduced to replace Jack at CTU. Has a previous relationship with Nina that hasn’t quite been fleshed out yet. I don’t think she is in on the conspiracy, but will probably cause problems for Jack and co because she seems like she is a “play it by the book” type person.
Carl – Palmer’s ex-lawyer who was fired for helping to cover up the murder. He is still incontact with Sherri however and seems like he has something up his sleeve.
So after all that, I still have a few questions:

What happened to Jamey? She was in a locked room so it certainly looks like she committed suicide, but I don’t buy it. She seemed way to concerned for her son to do something like that. The whole reason she took the Gaines job was to get enough money to support her son. In the previous episode she said she would cooperate if she got immunity. I don’t see what motive she would have to kill herself at this point in time.

What happened to Berkley? He was in the first few episodes as a bad guy, but Jack confided in him a few episodes ago and that seemed to change his mind. But he hasn’t been around since.

When did Terri get hurt? I remember the cell phone guy knocking her down when he realized she had stolen his phone, but did he really hit her that hard?

I didn’t quite get the conversation between Palmer and the guy from Carl’s office during the kindergarten press event. From what I understand, the guy ( I didn’t catch his name) said Carl had called in Palmer’s investors to tell them that Kevin’s (is that Palmer’s son?) therapist had evidence about the murder. He said that they were taking care of it, but that he didn’t want anything to do with Palmer anymore. Is that all that happened or am I missing something?
Can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode!!!

When they said ‘take care of it’ I thought they were speaking of ‘taking care of’ the therapist which lead to the guy walking out of Palmer’s camp.
I get that the guy was walking away becuase he didn’t like how things were getting “taken care of” with the therapist. What I didn’t understand was who were the men in the room with Carl and what were they doing there? Were they the three financial backers? If so, did Carl call them together? Or did the therapist contact them and they freaked out and ran to Carl?

I assumed that Carl called them together, being that they were all pretty close after becoming so invested into the Palmer camp and that it seems Carl is still working for Palmer even after being let go. But then the one guy freaked after he saw how it was going to go and high tailed it out of there.

A good ep that layed out some of the plot. I know I should have expected to see the fake York meet Jack, but that threw me. Nice little twist.
Argh! I missed Tuesday’s ep and was going to catch it on Friday when they usually reair it, but last night they preempted 24 for a showing of American Pie!!!
I hope FX airs it on Sunday. I will be so upset if I miss an episode now that it is getting good.
