I was genuinely surprised by the traling-credit preview as well. I wouldn’t have shown that.

I make it a habit to never watch the preview of the next episode and a co-worker totally spoiled it for me.
Well I’m saved because FX doesn’t show previews.
This episode was great. I love that Jack is getting more primal as his desperation grows.
I love that Carl is one sneaky son of a bitch.
I love that Terri is actually thinking smart for a change.
The only problem I have is that I’m too impatient. We learned that Jack, Palmer, and the Drasen bros have some connection to an event that took place two years ago in Somalia(?), but I want to know more…now!!!
I may actually be able to watch the show this Tuesday in it’s orginal airing. I can’t wait.
Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone’s neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing?!.
Actually it was Bosnia…but who’s counting?
What bothered me most about the last ep was when the guy Jack was driving around with spoke he didn’t have an accent. But when it was revealed that he was Bosnian or some shit he suddenly had an accent! Like “I’m caught so I might as well not fake this American accent but I’ll still speak English…”
It just didn’t make sense. If I were directing I would have had the accent from the beginning of his scenes or none at all.

Very cool stuff… you’re right, the van scene was great.
So, what was on the preview last week that everyone was mad about? Was it that Jack got to girls? I guess that was the real big ‘twist’ of this week.

Gaines has got some serious information, or at the very least an “in” to the core of the conspiracy. Jack is working outside his authority so he’s scraping, scratching, and grasping at anything to get to the bottom of this frame-up which has enveloped him.
I’d say Tony and Nina dodged some serious bullets. But that’s the nature of this show. Yet even while things are happening and I know they’re going to get out of whatever situation they find themselves, I cannot help but be drawn in like a moth to a flame.

It had to be the most tense 60:00, yet.
Anyone else think Rick is going to have to die? After helping get Kim into the mess in the first place, there is no way Jack is going to just let him slide. The only way I can see it working out is if he gets whacked.
Rick is going to die because he’s the archetype repentant criminal/hero. He’s a tragic figure. He wants to do good after having been led down the wrong path yadda yadda yadda. He’ll die violently and Kim will cry over him. Jack will be mixed emotionally over it.

Not a bad episode, but definitely my least favorite ending. It was obviously written to be a potential halfway point ending if the show had been cancelled. The episode did have it’s moments, though, mainly when Jack got the drop on Gaines and when he delivered his accept the responibility speech on Rick. Speaking of Rick, what do you think about him escaping on a bus? I kinda liked it. Gives him a little room to expand his options as a character.
Kimberly gets the dumb-ass award for her almost getting sniped looking for Rick.
I really hope the next eleven hours live up to the first 13.
Did I miss something or did the Richard Burgi character somehow manage to get away off in the woods? Probably they’re deliberately leaving that vague.

At least we don’t have to wait several weeks for the “start” of the second half of the series. It was apparent the way certain loose ends were tying themselves up and new threads were unraveling that this was supposed to be a series in two parts. But the first episode was delayed by the events of September. So I guess we’re the beneficiaries.

Anybody watch tonight? We always thought Tony would turn out to be a good guy and he did just that by not turning on Bauer. Kronos, I didn’t think it was obvious, but you may be right about the miscarraige theory. I find it hard to believe that Palmer has gotten so far in his career and not yet become jaded. He must have know that politics is shady and that everyone has an agenda – even people that back him as a candidate.
The preview for next week looks awesome: Terri confronting Nina, Palmer confronting Jack… I can’t wait!!!
