Less than a month away (4/08) and there has been no information coming out over the last few months but now some info is getting out on what to expect from the final nine episodes:

April 8: “Soprano Home Movies”
After a close call at home, Tony and Carmela head to the Adirondacks for a weekend with Bobby and Janice.
April 15: “Stage 5”
Tony finds art imitating life at the “Cleaver” premiere; in prison, Johnny Sack copes with more bad news.
April 22: “Remember When”
With the heat turned up in Jersey, Tony and Paulie head south to cool off. Meanwhile, Junior rekindles some of his old fire in a poker game.
April 29: “Chasing It”
Tony hits an unlucky stretch; AJ makes a life-changing decision; Vito’s widow Marie (Elizabeth Bracco) turns to Tony for help with her troubled son.

It’ll be interesting to see how ballsy they get here..in my eyes, there’s only one way to end the show, and I had always thought they would be developing AJ the entire series to be the one to do it, but since they haven’t developed him much at all, I’m clueless as to what they have planned. Looking forward to having this back, pretty sad that it’s coming to an end.
I’m glad we’ll get at least one more appearance from Tim Daly. I really hope Daniel Baldwin is the star of CLEAVER.
I’d be just fine if it ends with Tony, Carm, and his kids eating a nice dinner at home. It would be amusing to see all the casual viewers get irate because they’re not brutally murdered.

You and me both. The perfect ending would be Tony and both his families all gathered for Christmas dinner and the final scene just fades out of the living room. Even though that is how I want it to end my scenario will be far from what we get I’m sure.
Moltisanti: I’ve been looking for that issue of Vanity Fair but have had no luck.
I haven’t tried looking for it yet. It’s the April issue so I hope it’s in stores by now. The pull-out insert reminds me of the one “Rolling Stone” did years back, only with just dead cast members.
Most of their seasons have ended with fairly normal dinner scenes. I just don’t want to have major characters clipped every second over the last few episodes. About the only character that I’m ready to see dead is Paulie.

Why does he have to die? I think there are a few different routes Chase & Co. could go and they could all be very satisfying, depending upon how they are done.
I’ve been following The Sopranos on dvd ever since 2002, and since I don’t have HBO, I’ll have to wait for the dvd. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to reading about what happens in the final nine. AJ making a life changing decision? Could that mean him getting down on one knee for his Dominican squeeze?
Are they playing repeats of the last set of episodes? It’s been so long I don’t remember anything that happened except that Vito came out of the closet (literally) and got snuffed by Paulie.
Yeah, they’re rerunning them. The other big things would be that (spoilers for anyone who is reading this despite not having seen the first part of the season)
Christopher’s got a pregnant wife and recurring heroin habit; Silvio and Carlo killed a made guy from New York, and Phil’s looking to hit back.

Actually it was Phil and his goons who took care of Vito. Phil was also the one who did the literal exit from the closet.
I just want to see the ducks return at the end of the season.
And I’m in the camp that Tony dies or goes to jail. Jail would be much more tragic.
I don’t need or particularly want a “happy” ending. I love these characters. And part of that is that love comes from their weaknesses, and their sufferings are so goddamn compelling, too.
If they really wanted to make things tragic for Tony they’d kill off one of his kids. I hope they don’t but that would be far worse than anything else that could happen to him.
