it start’s up march 15 but the first two episodes dvd screeners have already been leaked out. i think i’m just gonna wait until the 15th. i’ve been waiting for this for a long time. will glen close be a good addition to the already stellar cast they have? how long will it take vic and the strike team to unite? but the real question is will dutch continue with his cat “obsession”?
Ya, I seem to be forgetting about the Shield premiering in a few days because there is a lot of other stuff on tv right now that I am watching…but it all changes come march 15th.
I think the Shield is my favorite show on tv. It is just so damn consistent and engrossing. Very rarely do I get so sucked into a show that I don’t realize how much time has passed in the real world, but this show does it to me almost every episode.
Can’t wait till I get to go back to Farmington.
I can’t wait to see Glenn Close interact with them all.
does anyone know if this show also comes on Fox channel, or is it just FX? (asking because I don’t get FX anymore)
As much as I want Vic Mackey go one on one with Glenn Close, I want to see Claudette have problems with her. It was her job until Acevada took it from her.

I think it’s fair to say everyone wants to see CCH pound her.
(an oldie, but a goodie)

I’m in the camp that’s waiting for March 15th to view it, though if anyone out there has seen the eps., do they hold up the standard of excellence set forth by the first three seasons? (a simple yes or no will do, please refrain from spoilers, thanks.) Also, does anyone know if this season will have 13 or 15 eps. like last season?
I know all the hype has been about Close but I’m a tad more interested in whether Tevon (sp?) is gonna be back. If he is will he be on the job or a borderline vegetable. I liked the idea of someone being on the strike force that wasn’t in on all of the dirty dealings.
There will be 13 eps this season.
I’m not that interested in Close. She’s never struck me as a great actress, and while she isn’t terrible, I’m much more interested in how the Strike Team will interact with each other, especially the attitude towards Lem.

Same here. I’m just hoping the writers don’t go out of their way to have them all patch things up and be friends again 20 min. into the first episode. This was my biggest beef with season three was how at the end of season two, everyone’s life had changed (Acevada elected, Claudet promoted, Danny fired, Julien beaten) yet by the end of the first episode, everyone was back where they started (Acevada stayed on, Claudet stays a detective part time while running the strike team and decoy squad, Danny re-hired, Julien back on the job). Hopefully it’ll be well into the season before Shane and Vic are back on speaking terms.
The Shield is great. I’m really looking forward to the 15th. One thing, though: Can anyone tell me why FX has like a year long hiatus in between seasons? I hate waiting around so long for a show I fucking love.
F.T.W. Kid
I’m pretty sure last season started around March so it’s closer to a 9 month hiatus. F/X really only has 3 big shows (Shield, Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me) so they have to space them out a bit or else F/X would be no better than Spike or USA for 9 months out of the year. I’d love as much Shield as possible but I think I’d rather have 13 eps shown week after week than 20 spaced out over 7 or 8 months.

I don’t know squirrel. At the end of episode 1 season 3, I think things “seemed” to be back to normal, but they definitely did not leave those conflicts you mentioned alone. It was something that was very prevalent and dealt with quite a bit as the season progressed.
I think the Shield does a great job of managing its characters in the realm of its seasons. The creators do a great job of dealing with issues rather than just dropping them.
The Shield is the show that got me watching television again after a seven year hiatus. I trust that the writers can do no wrong.

I’m not saying they didn’t pretend like they never happend, my complaint is that everyone had the same position they had in the last season job wise. I was hoping to see Acevada take office and watch Claudet have to deal with the pressures running the barn. Don’t get me wrong, the Shield is my fav. show on TV (tied with The Wire, which I love for different reasons.), and I was blown away by season 3, I was just disappointed that the changes in jobs weren’t as drastic as I thought they were going to be.
the changes are quite drastic, judging from the first two episodes.
holy shit
my girlfriend just bought me season 3 (cuz I’m poor as shit right now) and i finally watched the final two episodes that I missed last season.
that was some powerful shit.
I hate the fact that we are starting the season with no Strike Team, that will be strange. I also hope Lem does not just fade out. And I feel they left Tavon in a bad place last season. I hope that is not it for him, he was great in his last appearance.
I can not wait until next Tuesday
I only watched the first episode, and it was really good. Very expositiony, but that’s understandable. Glenn Close worked VERY well, I thought. They did shoe horn in a couple of appearances, just so we could know how everyone was doing, but it wasn’t bad, I thought. Still has the grit and dialogue of your Shield episode. “Why didn’t you call for help?” “My mouth was full of dick at the time.”
I’ll bump this up and we can use this for the Shield season 4 chatting. I see no need to start a 5th thread about the new season.
Just reminding everyone the season premiere is tomorrow. Come join us in following the Strike Team for another season. Will they get back together? Will Mara still be pregnant or will it show her faking it? Will it show the pussy saying yes to Dutch-Boy this year? Stay tuned true believers!
