AWatched this a 2nd time on bluray. Even better the 2nd time. The only part of the film that isn’t all there for me are the villains. Not the characters, just their plot. But the movie is so much fun it doesnt bother me. Still surprised to see everyone down on this. It’s one of my favorites of this year.
I’m looking forward to giving it another spin. I expect it to play better the second time on video.

The Nice Guys is KKBB’s inferior in every measurable respect (and it’s a situation where the vibes are so similar that essentially every respect is directly measurable). It’s still one of the best movies I’ve seen this year.

I mostly agree on bouth counts, but I also think it onky qualifies as one of the best of the year because this year hasn’t had very many good movies.

I still like this better than KKBB. It’s close though.
Just watched this on blu. A lot of enjoyable moments, but as was said upthread, severely undercooked. Its roots as a TV pilot showed, and not in good ways. KKBB is in every way the superior film. I’d even argue IRON MAN 3 was better as a whole.
The trailers, esp. the red band, definitely spoiled the best moments of the film.
