I just saw the commercial for this the other night, starting December 1. I’m torn, because I’ve really loved the series, save for a few clunkers in season 7. The finale of Season 8 was so great as a series finale, so I’m nervous about bringing the show back and re-vamping with a big cast update (Braff, from what I’ve heard, will only be in a handful of the first few episodes).
On the other hand, if the same writers are retained, and a lot of the cast members are still around, it could be great. Any excuse to have McGinley keep playing Dr. Perry Cox is a good excuse, right?

Yeah, they went out on such a strong note that I will, at the very least, DVR it on December 1st. Why else? Because we are all bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling. That’s why.
At least from the looks of it, they didn’t change it up to the 3 camera audience set-up. So that’s good.
I just watched the series finale for a blu-ray review, and I thought it was total sap. I’m going to be torn apart by fans for saying that, aren’t I?

Of course not. We’ll just tell you that you’re wrong. So very, very wrong. One of the best series finales ever. Except it’s not really a series finale now. Bizarre.
I was never a fan of the idea of SCRUBS 2.0, and I’m still annoyed that they’re calling it SCRUBS instead of SCRUBS MED (thus specifying it as a spinoff).
But, uh, yeah … I’ll be watching.
The finale is a bit sappy, but the show always toed that line and I always kind of loved it for that. Seasons 1-5 and 8 are probably my favorite sitcom ever, if this sucks I can just ignore it. I kind of wish JD wasn’t involved in any of the episodes though.
From what he’s posted on his blog, he won’t be much, and for long. He’s supposed to pretty much start it and then hand it off.

Agree with Zak, no one is going to rip you apart. Quick question, when you handle your blu-ray discs are you more careful because of your retard strength?
When I read Lawrence’s explanation for keeping the show around (keeping people employed, while he has stories to tell), I could understand.

Good to know what I’m in for. The DVDActive readers are waaaaay less eloquent than Chewers. I’m prepped now.
Less eloquent is an understatement. Still, they shouldn’t have brought the show back. Launch a new IP. There’s only so much more you can mine out of Sarah Chalke.

She’s gone, too, aside from a few episodes.
Although I’d like to prove your theory wrong with my own personal mining expedition.

Screw that. I’m coming for you, Powers. And why? See the above-referenced bastard comment. That’s why. Yeah!
As far as Lawrence is concerned, this is a “new” show. He lobbied hard to get them to change the title to “Scrubs Medical” or something to reflect that it’d be about med students with Turk and Cox as profesors rather than a continuation of Scrubs.

Hahahaha. You’re the greatest, Cassady.
I thought the finale last year worked great as an end but I’m willing to check this out for a few episodes. Cox and Turk ably took over the spotlight in the last year. Also, Jo is back!
Isn’t Judy Reyes gone too? It’s gonna be weird, nigh impossible, to have Turk without Carla.
Also, the lack of Neil Flynn is so very, very, very distressing. I’m going to give it an episode or two, but it’s got a bad hand starting out regardless.

I guess if I’m getting murdered I might as well go all the way: Screw Sunny in Philly! Everything you like is awful, even the things I like, Mattioli.
Neil Flynn is gone?! ouch.
I’m pretending it isn’t happening. Like Zombie’s Halloween reboot. and One Hot Minute. And the Eliza Dushku/Rick Fox relationship. Those don’t exist in my universe.
I’m just watching it for Eliza Coupe and Dave Franco. The sooner JD and co. are transitioned out, the better. And I loved a lot of S8, but it’s gotta be all or nothing at this stage.
More importantly, Better Off Ted is back the week after.
Aah crap, I have to get the DVD review of the final season up. Fucking deadlines!
Will watch, but only because I love all things Scrubs. Unnecessary, but fuck it, could be great.
