Casey Wilson and Michaela Watkins are gone.
I know Casey Wilson wasn’t the most popular, but I thought she was pretty sharp. I liked what I got to see of Watkins. I’m perpetually amazed how Kenan Thompson keeps dodging the bullet. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve just resigned to flip channels during his bits.
Every era needs its Horatio Sanz.

Given the amount of comedians of any ethnicity who would give their left pinky to get a slot on SNL, you would think that Lorne Michaels would realize that it actually does fill itself.
Wilson was awful but Watkins had potential.
Goddamnit, Casey Wilson was hot.
Oh yeah, and she was kinda funny too.
Has Kristen Wiig been considered “broken out” yet btw?

Abby Elliot is ten times hotter and, more importantly, funnier.
At least Lorne’s still calling it Saturday Night Live. Not Kristen Wiig Live.
I’m sure Casey will miss the paycheck, but she was barely on the show anyway.
I’ve seen her do a few amusing bits on Funny or Die, but Wilson was always awful on SNL. I liked Watkins, though - maybe even a little more than Elliot. Too bad.
Imagine living with the stigma of “Not Good Enough to be on SNL”.
It’s like being dumped by Courtney Love.
I thought both were funny & talented. With all the dead wood on the show, they were hardly the problem. I loved Watkins’ Huffington impression & the Today Show sketch.
Someone please show Darrell Hammond the door. At this point, the hanging on has moved past a little embarrassing and actually gotten sad.

What has Elliot done apart from her Angelina? Which is all about make-up and wardrobe anyway.
I am surprised they let Watkins go as she started to get more and more screentime as the season went on. Wilson was always awful and Elliot wasn’t ever in anything.
In other news, they ARE bringing on some new talent:

Robert Downey Jr. did alright.
Also see David Koechner. The guy was only on one season of SNL and he now seems to be working constantly in film and television.
You can also add Jim Carrey, John Goodman and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss to that list. And almost Eddie Murphy.
