Apparently the original thread is lost to the CHUD gods.
Last night’s ep wasn’t terrible, but man I hope they avoid the “2007 is a foreign land” stuff from now on. Watching Sarah look at a Blackberry and utter the words, “What happens when I press these numbers? Can I speak into this microphone thingy?” was unbelievably painful. She’s from 1997 not the dark ages.
John asking Sarah about the computer tech stuff was great. Finally he’s not a giant dunce.
Fembot terminator walking around in lingerie = yummy. And her attempts to fit in at school were hilarious. “I’m a bitch whore”. Although this will get old fast if they do this every episode.
I loved “Chet” unveiling himself to the scientist and forcing him to make his fleshy-human exoskeleton. When he came out of that bathtub of blood, it was pretty cool.
I liked the ep last night. I think you’re misreading Sarah’s comment about the blackberry. She made a smart ass comment about the numbers to the effect that “if I push 7 of them, will it still call someone?” implying that’s all she needed it to do.
Also, I wonder what happened to the terminator’s ability to perfectly mimic a teenager as demonstrated in the first episode. She seems to fluctuate between acting more human-like than previous models, and then being completely robotic when it serves the story.

Hmmm, you could be right about me misreading the Blackberry scene. It was annoying either way.
I commented about this in the first thread. Terminatrix could smile and joke with John in the first episode, and now she’s lost ability to emote.
While I still think it was good overall, I have to admit I fought the urge to grab the remote and switch channels when it looked like John and the terminator were veering into Veronica Mars territory with the door graffiti and suicide plot. It was a long way to go to make a point they hammered home more than once already.
It’s certainly not the worst thing on television right now.
My take on the graffiti plot is that it is going to continue. There really was no resolution as to who was doing it or why. My guess is that the person doing it is either going to try it against John or Cameron.
Maybe Cameron fried her emotion chip in the time jump because, yes, there is a huge difference in her ability to adapt from the pilot to where she is now. I suppose it could be explained away as she’s now in bodyguard mode but there is a noticable difference. Her assimilation into high school plot is the one plot that I’m not looking forward to watching.

Certainly not. Compared to genre buddies like Heroes (which sucks ass but I still feel like there’s potential there) or Painkiller Jane (I know it’s finished, but it was a name that popped up in my head), it’s awesome. I like it OK so far, and I’ll keep watching.

Agreed. That scene alone has me coming back for at least one more episode.

That’s how I know I should stop watching. I’m not slammin’ you or anything Fleed, I’m just saying I deleted my TiVo timer about 10 minutes into that second one. God, that show’s a chore to watch.
The high school stuff was all terrible. I get it, they change things from the pilot, but the difference from normal teenage Cameron to LOL TERMINATOR IN HIGH SCHOOL is annoying.
I hope they’re not making Sarah a pussy. Crazy Sarah would have capped Andy the second she saw he had a GIANT FUCKING AI COMPUTER
I actually liked The Sarah Connor Chronicles so far. Summer and Lena are always a delight to watch (Though I think Lena’s Sarah is a lot less of a Hard Ass than Linda’s was). Interesting to watch though.
Good job, Sarah, you burned his house down. There’s no way he could ever, ever build another A.I. unit, right? Right?
So stupid. T2 Sarah would have wasted him without a second thought. Of course, if she does that, the series becomes about her serial killing computer nerds worldwide.
There’s also a slim possibility she didn’t burn it down. There was a strike team member hanging around the house who could have also done the job. She could have been on her way to kill him and she saw the house burning and figured there was no need after that destruction of the computer.
I’m dumb. What was the deal with the suicidal chick? There’s stuff on the classroom doors and everyone’s staring at it and she’s all broken up about it. What else?

That was it. She was banging a teacher, and someone decided to be avant-garde about exposing her. It just felt really bizarre and out of place, and I have no idea if they’re actually going to go somewhere with it, or if that was it.

It was definitely a joke. He was describing all the crazy things you can do with cell phones, when she just wanted to make calls.
