Just saw a commercial for this. Pamela Anderson aside, I’ve been a fan of every single one of these Roasts, so I’m sure as hell psyched about this one.
I loved the Anderson roast. The Shatner one should be good assuming they get Jeffrey Ross, hopefully George Takei as well.

Pamela Anderson aside? That’s been the best one so far. It was a trainwreck with tits. How can you not love that?!
Really looking forward to the Shatner roast though. Hopefully he’ll be sitting in the Captain’s chair. If he can still fit in it, that is.

Everyone would like to be subject of a Roast, but few generate enough material. Besides, with all the snark, the dynamic is different. It isn’t an overview of a lifetime’s worth of stupid things. It’s a bunch of jokes that have already been made.

I thought I heard him on some radio show griping that Comedy Central pays next to nothing so I was wondering if he was still into it. I recorded one episode of that animated dog show he does and it was pretty awful. Roasts are his domain.

Overall a decent group. Lampanelli will probably just yell the same jokes she did last year. Oswalt doesn’t do it for me. But Ross, Takei, Willard and Lang should be amusing. I like Greg Giraldo but Nick Dipaolo is better.
I think at the very least Shatner is much more deserving of a Roast than most who get one (Drew Carey?).
I never saw the Carey one, and all I have seen of the Hugh Hefner one is what they showed on THE ARISTOCRATS and imagine that never made TV anyway.
But the Anderson and Denis Leary ones were great. Oddly enough the Jeff Foxworthy one was pretty good too, probably because it gave the roasters a chance to rip into all the Blue Collar puss bags.
I just have to stop and say that while the rest can eat their own shit for all I care, Ron White is great.
I can’t stand him. I guess he’s above the other 3 but that’s not saying much. It doesn’t help that I used to work at a place full of people who adored him and would pass around one of his DVDs. Every few days I’d have to listen to someone new recount their favorite bits. Glad I got the hell out of there.

Yes, those guys are always playing the different Indian casinos or Reno/Tahoe which isn’t that far away so their following has spread. Sadly.

Huh, I never would have thought of California that way, but I guess I can blame Hollywood. For all the hundreds of TV shows filmed in California, they never seem to show the part of the state you’re describing.
It’s a big state. Both “Dukes of Hazzard” and “CHiPs” was filmed here.
CHiPS was filmed in LA, so growing up that’s pretty much how I imagined California. Dukes I guess was shot out in some backwoods like you’re describing.
Anyway, thanks for clearing up the mystery of why California has Republican governors.
This roast needs to have Kevin Pollak in it. Nobody is better than him at imitating Shatner’s ‘style’ of acting. He’s a funny comedian anyway, but it’s always comedy gold whenever he does the Shatner thing.
It should be interesting to watch just to see how ole Bill reacts to the inevitable toupee jokes. Story is he’s hyper sensitive about that.
