I found that today as well and for the couple of hours after lunch today that it worked, it was accurate as hell.
But since 4 pm my time it’s been down/unresponsive - but so has the game.

AYep. On my commute to/from work I can usually hit 11 pokestops and fill back up on balls. On my way home now and nada on the login front.
Reddit user with more time than you “finishes” U.S. based Pokemon Go.
Yet another reason to hate New Yorkers.
Productive day at the office. It’s dead, no one is here and my building is 50 feet from a large shopping complex. Caught a Machop, Electabuzz, Sandslash, Tentacool, and hatched a Jynx from a 10km egg (did not walk the full 10km today).
Ummm, so Imma send you a PM… with my login info… Imma need those first three…
Do you guys realize that every time you catch a Pokeman, Skynet grows more intelligent?
If you find a Nukemichu in your neighborhood, be glad. You’ll be at the center of the blast radius, so you won’t have to waste away from radiation poisoning like all the others.
A[quote name=“D.T.” url=“/community/t/155656/pokemon-go-shut-up-you-know-youre-playing-it/90#post_4103751”]I don’t think they planned that far ahead. I wish they had, since I just found THIS, and the servers are currently down. It’s a tracker that uses the game developer’s API to show you where Pokemon are in any chosen area. It’s supposedly very accurate.
Normally, I’d say this is cheating, but with the in-game tracker having been disabled for over a week… I don’t mind getting the same amount of exercise and fresh air with less of the frustration.

Just used this to successfully pinpoint a Ponyta that shadowed on my Nearby. If I can continue to collect those shadows with that it will be great.
It’s terribly accurate. My trackery is totally broken, so some of the monsters that show up on that site do not show up in the app, at all.
I nearly got bit by a snake trudging through some very deep brush in my neighborhood to get a Haunter that showed up this morning when I got out of the shower.
Well?
Did you catch the Haunter?
Oh, absolutely. I wasn’t gonna let a snakebite deter me from Pokehunting. The sad thing was once I caught it I logged out to log my kids in so I could catch it for them. The servers chose right then to be an absolute dick and I couldn’t get logged in before I had to go back home to finish getting ready for work. So unfortunately my kids did not get that if they needed it.
However, supposedly Pokemon spawn at set times so I will check the area again at 8:45am and if it is there I will know they can get it any morning that they like.
The spawn thing is true for certain Pokemon. Right behind my building, along a walking trail through a golf course, an Electabuzz pops up every morning when I get to work.
The loudmouth concealed-carry instructor in our building was ranting earlier about people giving “a foreign company” access to their location and camera. Everyone politely humored the guy who probably has a bunch of guns in his car/office/taped-to-his-back.
Does he know the game’s developer is based in San Francisco?
I’m sure that even if he did, that would be close enough to a foreign country for this guy.
Nintendo has a 32% stake in the Pokemon Company, so they technically don’t have complete ownership over Pokemon development (besides the trademarks), just a revenue stake and platform exclusivity. Nintendo and Pokemon Company have undisclosed stakes in Go developer Niantic.
Apparently I work in a Pokemon gym now.
I live in the desert. Literally the hottest habitable place in the country. Places any hotter are labelled things like “Death Valley” and no one lives there. I went out to meet a friend for lunch, and the sun literally hurt to be in. I’m not exaggerating - it wasn’t just warm temperatures. The sunlight burned.
And still… Charmanders only spawn in one point. During the day, up a mountain hiking trail near the university. I call bullshit on Niantic’s reading of geographical information. No one in their right mind will climb a fucking mountain when it hits 112 degrees by noon, when the rest of the region is just as deserty.
Goddammit, I’m going to hike that mountain at some point and catch like 9 Charmanders…
AStone called Pokemon Go “surveillance capitalism,” calling it the “newest stage” in data mining.
"You’ll see a new form of, frankly, a robot society, where they will know how you want to behave and they will make the mockup that matches how you behave and feed you,” Stone said. “It’s what they call totalitarianism.”
