What’s the first line of the theme to “The Adventures of Pete and Pete?” I never watched that show.
Raise your hand if you were traumatized by Tim Curry in It or Zeke the Plumber or ANY episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? Zeke the plumber scared the shit out of me.
There even used to be a Robocop comic book put out by Marvel, and I remember getting a few issues as a kid when going to 7/11 for Slurpies. I now have the entire series except the final issue, which I was only able to find available on a Robocop fan site. ARGH! But the idea of a Robocop cartoon still makes me laugh to this day. I’d like to get to watch it again. I was all pissed as a kid because the gore was removed in the cartoon, and everytime someone got shot, it just looked lame (compared to the movie, of course).

Honorable mention: cowboys of moo mesa
Yes, I remember all of these things far too well. Funny thing about Die Hard 2 was, even as a kid I knew the censoring was unbelievably horrible.
Originally posted by Werbal_KintThe only character name I remember from US Acres was Sheldon, the chick who was still stuck in the egg. Do you guys remember that episode of “Salute Your Shorts” where the nerdy kid actually said “Pissed-off”? On Nickelodeon no less! And I saw it multiple times, so they never took it out from syndication!
I was also surprised when Sponge said "pissed off. I never understood why this was allowed from a network that was incredible uptight at times. Then again a few episodes of Ren & Stimpy pretty much blows that whole theory.
One part on Ren and Stimpy I have NEVER, EVER figured out how they got away with it was one scene from “Rubber Nipple Salesmen”. They show up at Mr. Horse’s door and he’s wearing a rubber-nipple fetish suit. He assumes their cops and says “I’ve made some mistakes! MAYBE I SHOULD MAKE TWO MORE,” as he leers at Ren and Stimpy. When he finds out they’re selling nipples, he calmly refuses to buy any before pulling out a Walrus and asking “if they have an rubber WALRUS protectors”.
The Walrus, teeth gritted says “CALL THE POLEEEEECE.”
I thought the scene was hilarious as a kid (especially the police line), but even I could tell they were hinting at some very, very disturbing things that were going on in Mr. Horse’s house.
I work with a bunch of guys who are in the 23 and under range, and there have been times where I drop, say, a Smokey and the Bandit reference and get blank stares. And it usually ends with me yelling “BURTON FUCKING LEON REYNOLDS, YOU IDIOTS!”

I do! I actually saw a live taping of “Small Wonder” when I was growing up. We went to LA for vacation and they were giving out sitcom taping tickets at Universal Studios. We showed up for a taping the next day and almost didn’t get in because there was an entire Girl Scout troop ahead of us in line. It was first come, first serve until the studio was full. Actually seeing how a sitcom was taped was a pretty surreal experience for me, especially at that age.

Aw yeah. To this day, I’ve felt that Jamie should’ve settled for Harriet. And wished that his dad would realize he was no better than Mr. Brindle when he’d try to pull a fast one sometimes…
“Out of This World” was one of my favorites…who could forget Buzz Bellamondo?!
“Welcome Freshman” was funny when it was a sketch comedy show in the first two seasons. Even though one of the later episodes with Lippman’s double was GREAT.

You gotta be kiddin me? I’m 22, but that movie was like the king of Saturday/Sunday afternoon movies around here. Y’know, the kind where every five minutes they’d cut in with a short informercial telling you about vinyl siding or something.
I remember a dirty bit from “Rocko’s Modern Life” where he had to get a new job since he was fired from his old one. And one of those jobs happens to be a phone sex operator (Which was never uttered, but very evident). On the wall, there was a note that said, “Be Courteous, but above all, BE NAUGHTY!”
And it went like this-
Rocko: (Monotone) Oh baby oh baby oh baby.
(Split screen to his neighbor Mrs. Bighead on the other line)
Bev: Rocko?
(Both hang up out of embarrassment.)
