I’ve never listened to much NIN, but I am a fan of Reznor & Ross as film composers, and I think their typical sound is in the wheelhouse of what you’d want from a TRON score (absent Daft Punk).
They got Jared Leto. Guess they figured one daft punk was enough..

Was really hoping for another great Daft Punk score but I’m intrigued by what Reznor and Atticus will do for this.
I guess I’m still the only one who thinks the DP score on Legacy cuts against the grain of the action. But I guess that’s what they do? I had the same problem with Interstella 5555.
You are definitely not the only one who thinks this. I’ve felt and said from day one that the droning nature of the score makes the action feel inert and undynamic. M83 did a much better job with Oblivion. Daft Punk’s is still a very nice score to listen to independently of the movie, though.
As with Legacy, they should just skip the movie and release the soundtrack.
I had the same problem with the score for OBLIVION
constantly felt like the music was mixed way too prominently at the expense of all else (which wasn’t particularly exciting anyway)
Joachim Ronning has had a very strange career. He seems to be the go to guy for Bob Iger.
Another unneeded sequel bolstered by a talented musician doing the soundtrack. Hollywood everyone!
If Leto were a woman, there would definitely be 100 rumors about him sleeping with directors and producers to get parts. Because neither the performances nor the box office supports his career.
He’s a deterrent. He’s a big part of why they still won’t be able to make a successful Tron movie. His career remains one of the more baffling enigmas of the modern studio age.
