It's CHRISTMAS!

The wife and I haven’t put up a Christmas tree in 15 years. No regrets here.

Thanks guys. I no longer feel like some weird freak!

We have a neighbor boy who sells holiday wreaths for his boy scouts troop. Those wreaths, along with some holiday potpourri, pretty much comprise the entirety of our decorations for the holidays.

AYou guys are a bunch of grinches.

AI bought some Christmas Crunch cereal on Amazon for $20. No regrets here.

Can I regret it for you, Brad?

AFucking shipping and handling, man.

AI have a wreath on the door and that’s pretty much it.

AIt never feels like Christmas in L.A. No snow, most folks don’t put up lights, Santa Claus evidently isn’t real – it’s just a time of the year where it’s a little colder and there’s way less traffic for maybe a week or so.

AHonestly, I get enough holiday scenery just walking through the park at work. I don’t need it all over my apartment.

AI go a bit nuts with Christmas decorations. Here’s this year’s tree:

Outstanding!

We’ve been in the house 3 years now and each year I’m trying to add some decoration - this year I added landscape lighting (year-round) but think it adds to the Christmassy feel even just with a simple wreath and window candles:

Tree and mantle this year:

AWhere’s Spawn? I just see young 'uns.

It’s a West coast/Southwest thing for sure.

But here, Christmas time means all the snowbirds are back from Wisconsin and Michigan and Alberta, so the roads are always congested and everyone is driving like a fucking idiot. Going to and from work today (a total of about 12 miles round trip) I saw people run red lights four times. And I saw one guy run a red light to make an illegal right hand turn, and then come to a complete fucking stop at the next green light. I was astounded.

Anyway, when you’re a kid it’s easy to overlook the lack of cold weather and stuff to make everything a little more magical, because there’s that looming excitement of presents and shit. But as an adult, I’m like “Just hurry the fuck up and get here so I can have a nice meal with my family, watch football with my dad all day, pretend we like the gifts we got each other, and all the people driving 35 miles and hour on the freeway can go the fuck back up North.”

ASee? You should all move to NYC. It’s cold as hell today and while stupidity abounds, you can’t make a wrong turn or stop at a green light on the subway.

Yeah … that doesn’t sound so great. Status=NOT JELLY.

This is the Christmas postcard we sent out this year. I wanted a more elaborate story about our dog being half mogwai, but it was getting too wordy.

We’ve sent cards like this out for the past 7 years, to over a hundred people. We’ve gotten 4 cards so far this year. :expressionless:

I’m only on for another hour before I’m off work, and then I’m off until the 27th. I probably won’t be on until then so I just want to tell everyone now to have a Merry Christmas and you guys are all amazing peeps.
