Yeah, the great thing about casting Carla Gugino is that I’m having trouble figuring out who to root for in that battle of the agents.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t care either. Hot is hot. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older, but I’m finding older women (early to late 30’s) pretty damn attractive lately.
Although Nick’s avatar reminds me that women in their 20’s aren’t all that bad…
Carla Gugino is damn gorgeous. It was a little hard to concentrate on the episode while she was on screen.

Did you guys give up on this? Drama & Ari continue to get laughs from me, so I’m still liking it.

This show continues to suck. I’m female and I gotta say, Carla in her panties was the best thing about this ep. I missed last week’s ep, but obviously I didn’t miss anything central to the show as I followed along just fine this week.
Also, along side the fact that there is no dramatic weight to any of the characters or storylines (I know it’s a comedy!), the fact that it airs after the Sopranos, which is so heavy with text and subtext, Entourage just pales in comparison.
For a non-fan of sitcoms, this shows still hits the right spots for me. I am mostly a fan of dramas and sci-fi type stuff, so to have a 1/2 hour comedy but not sitcom style, it’s a great way to end/start the week.

This show is still solid. Yes, there’s no real danger and no real drama…but there never has been. It’s great for what it is. I don’t watch Entourage for all the things it isn’t. The Sopranos provides plenty of that. Although it’s kinda hard to digest all of the Sopranos before going right into Entourage.
This episode didn’t suck at all. I think you missed the stuff with Ari. You know, his breakdown… his getting his edge back, and the scene in therapy where he blew up and walked out was worth the price of admission.
As Nick mentioned earlier in this thread, I think its a mistake for the show to move away from the boys to focus more on Ari. He’s best in small doeses. His breakdown on the golf course and then subsequent berating of his therapist was cool, but then again there was never any doubt Ari would get his groove back. That the show is so predictable is part of its suckitude.
I guess I just don’t get what the show is trying to be. It was marketed as Sex & the City for guys, which which I dug in Seasoon 1. But the shift away from the boys using Hollywood as their playground to the agent/manager politics of Season 2 & 3 just isn’t working, mainly because there’s no weight behind any of it. I would feel sorry for Ari losing Vince if there was any chance that they wouldn’t get back together. But they will, and thus all the stuff in between has no meaning for me. It’s midly entertaining to watch, but when all is said and done, the show just doesn’t pull me in. Maybe calling it sucky, is too harsh. But this isn’t must-see TV for me.

I don’t go out of my to watch it, thus I missed last week’s ep. Saw it this week because my roommate is into the show and I was too lazy to get off the couch. Plus as mentioned earlier, when the first shot is of a semi-nude Gugino, that tends to suck you in.
Some people like Ari, some hate too much of him. I too am of the opinion that he’s best used as a spice. A show based on him could be great, but not this show. Still, I don’t think it’s objectively bad, just my personal preference. I still think the show has problems though.
Nothing happens. We’re supposed to be living vicariously through these guys, but their lives are so dull. Which might be interesting, at least temporarily, if that was the point. But it’s not. We don’t even get any good inside Hollywood stuff in most episodes.
Even still, that might be forgivable if the guys had anything going on character-wise. Mileage will vary on how funny you find Drama, but other than that what have you got? My main beef is with Eric though. How can you give your main character so little to do? I mean, the guy has absolutely nothing to do. Except complain.
In the first season I loved the fact that Vince was not the really interesting/engaging guy we want the movie star to be… but kind of a blank slate. Not stupid, but just not that deep. I thought that was realistic. Little did I know that would become the personality profile of basically everybody in the show.
They should have a spin off show with Carla Gugino where she walks around the whole episode in her underwear and then sleeps with all her clients. Ratings powerhouse.
I was thinking, and I’m sure I’m not alone here, that once Vince has had his fun with Carla’s Guginos, he’ll lose interest in her and move back to Ari rather quickly. Since she’s so sympathetic and hot, though, just tossing her aside would be make Vince more unlikable than he’s ever been. So then I started thinking that it would be a funny little twist to find out that she sleeps with all her hot male clients, and probably some other people’s too. Make him a notch on her belt instead of the other way around. Turning the tables would allow them to end that relationship without making Vince come off as a total dick.
But… but… but… Vince is a total dick.
I would rather they keep Gugino around awhile. I started liking her character when she yelled at the boys.
People used to call Seinfeld the show about nothing. Au contrare, Entourage is truly a show about nothing and I love watching every vapid minute.

I was guessing that he’s going to end up falling for her and she’s going to end up rejecting him (similar to the “Walk to Remember” incident), which will lead him towards his return to Ari at the end of the season.
Anyone catch this week’s episode? While the whole Paulie Shore thing was fun, did anyone else figure out the ending almost immediately? I have to agree that the focus on Ari leaves a lot to be desired, the subplot in this episode with Artie was completely disposable and not terribly interesting. Also, why haven’t they taken the group to any foreign locales? Going to Vegas every now and then is fun, but why not have Vince see foreign locales as well as foreign ladies with cute accents?
A lot of the current problems with the show have been discussed. I find my biggest gripe to be that it’s just not funny anymore.
I don’t know how you can make a show about 4 single guys living in L.A. boring, but they have.
