I was a big fan of this show from the first moment I saw it. Finally, HBO is releasing some episodes on DVD next month. Anyway, I am very excited about the upcoming season that premieres early next year (Sunday, January 4th at 9:30pm to be exact) and I just read a very positive review in the Hollywood Reporter. It will feature Mel Brooks and Ben Stiller among others. It looks to be another hilarious season:
I LOVE this show. I just hope they can match the genius of the Halloween epsiode, where the girls vandalize Larry’s house, the director in the wheelchair thinks his wife is cheating on him with Larry, and Larry gets into the argument about Wagner with the other Jewish guy. One of the few perfect comedy episodes I’ve ever seen. Also, the episode with Scorsese was great, too.

I saw another gem tonight, during the marathon HBO was showing tonight. In the episode “Club Soda and Salt”, Larry plays tennis with his wife, and after hearing her grunt after every hit, he says that her grunting sounds “like pigs fucking!”.
Funniest show on TV, EASILY.
Watched like 6 episodes last night. I can never, ever get tired of this show.
Awesome. This truly is one of my top 5 favorite shows on TV.

And also, something I noticed at the end of Sex And The City and also this show…HBO does the “scenes from next week’s episode” portion differently now. I like it, we don’t have to wait until the credits are done to see them.
Not bad. Not bad at all. I loved Cheryl’s reaction to Larry trying to swallow the pill. The embarrassed look on her face was so perfect.
And it’s about time I saw Rachel Harris in something other than I love the 80’s.
I hope they keep up with this Producers story for a while. I’d like more Rachel Harris on my TV.
I thought it was a pretty funny episode. The look of shock on Garlin’s face when the lesbian was beating Larry up killed me. I have a feeling Larry in going to try to cash in him anniversary present with Ben Stiller’s wife.
Absolutely hilarious episode!
I was laughing more at Larry’s reaction when he was getting the beatdown from the angry lesbian. I loved it when she said, “You think we’re gonna name him after a fucking breakfast drink?!”
Also, when the flashback in the restaurant was funny, if only for Larry’s giant glasses and weird hair color.
And I loved the stuff with the doctor (Philip Baker Hall). “There’s definitely gonna be a prick involved.” That and when Larry unknowingly drooled on his head from the balcony at the theater. The look on Hall’s face was classic WTF.
In addition to the breakfast drink and prick lines, the highlights are:
Larry trying to pick up a girl at the Karoake bar --“Karoake is like a third thing to do at night, the other two being bowling and going to the movies.”
Larry insulting the lesbian couple by saying that a funny name will be “the least of its problems.”
Jason Alexander and Matthew Broderick aren’t the only 2 who did The Producers and aren’t doing it now anyway. I’m pretty sure those were the real actors from the L.A. run.
And why do I think that unlike Springtime For Hitler Larry David in The Producers will close in 1 night.
And Larry will try and cheat w/ the blond in The Producers with the big tits.
That was actual footage from the LA run of THE PRODUCERS. Those were either the understudies or the guys that took over the roles from Jason Alexander and Martin Short.
Also, I watched this episode again last night when it reaired and got to see Jeff’s reaction when Larry got the beatdown from the angry lesbian.
Actually, it was footage from the New York version of the Producers, filmed at the St James Theatre. I believe it was Brad Oscar and Roger Bart in the roles at the time. Interesting though how they portrayed the Pantages in LA and the footage was from the NYC production. Hmm. If you checked the credits, it even mentions that, thus where I got my info.
Well, Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick are back on the Great White Way so all is right with the world. . Anyway, expect this story line to continue. Expect wackiness chock filled with Ben Stiller in the future and segments filmed in New York City. Report has Jerry Seinfeld making a quick cameo in an upcoming episode even.
Should be a great season.

I get HBO, so I can actually watch the show now.

When Larry stole cake off the blind guy’s plate, I almost lost my shit.
