Cast out from her home as Faith assumes leadership of the rag tag group of do-gooders, Buffy the slayer of the vampires goes on an adventure to Sunnydale’s morgue. Embracing her childish romantic ideals about death, it soon blossoms into necrophilia, the study of embalming and the most profound relationship of her life.
She then lets a gang of vampires sexually abuse her until UPN has deemed it fit for the shows true narrative to continue. But only after Buffy slays the vampires staring at the camera and does a promo for WWE Smackdown on Thursday nights.
Witness another fine show lose its credibility and fan base as it is Chris Cartered into the ground.

**Touched
After capturing one of ‘The First’s’ evil Bringers, Faith and the Potentials discover an element of his plan for annihilation and launch a preemptive attack as Buffy takes on Caleb in a treacherous brawl.**
While I look forward to this episode, I’m beginning to wonder if Caleb has any purpose other than to just kick Buffy’s ass. Is he just a servant of the First with a bit more charisma?

Mheh. Wasn’t expecting that kind of response. I can’t believe nobody saw this as a light-hearted gag inspired by the whacky antics of agent 86/puppetmaster fan jostling to being the first to get a buffy thread started.
As for choppy fanfic, good eye. Copy and pasted that synopsis from a flick that has a title that has been eluding me for the past year. “Touched” reminded me of that necrophelia journey that is “Kissed”.
As for the show itself. Love it, own the dvd’s. No complaints here. Or something.

I was hoping for more reappearances of Big Bads throughout the season, actually.

Well that was a waste of an hour.
5 minutes of plot advancement, stuck at the very end.
I would have enjoyed a quiet moment before the big showdown, if it hadn’t been drawn out that long. Almost as shameless as a clip-show filler.
What more plot advancement do you want? The plot for the final two hours seems pretty straightforward. I want MORE character stuff. It’s why I love this show.
I couldn’t be happier that Spike got that speech in, by the way. Great stuff.
That’s exactly the problem, they’re holding everything back for the finale. I’m more than a bit angry they wasted an episode.
I love character development, but really what was there in tonight’s episode? The nice little Spike/Buffy moment aside…it was an episode of fluff.
I had a bad feeling from the moment I saw the promo for it last week. That an ad with nothing more than characters having sex spelled doom.
Oh, and the weapon. It came from the Fray book? It looked…too cartoonish. Isn’t the whole point of a slayer that they are the weapon against evil? But suddenly they need a fancy axe to do their job?
This was the moment where everyone takes a deep breath before heading into battle.
First of all, we got the renewal of Xander & Anya AND Buffy & Spike, Willow & Kennedy taking the next step, and Wood & Faith (!)
PLOT advancement was light, I guess. But CHARACTER development was crucial.
BTW: is the finale going to be 2 hours long?
The coupling up really didn’t seem like much character development, if any. Let’s check it out one by one:
Xander and Anya -looked like they fell into the rythmn of the house more than rekindled their original feelings
Buffy and Spike -we always knew how Spike felt about her. That she wanted to be held and comforted looked like no more than his being used, in light of the ads where she’s kissing Angel.
Faith and Wood -a toss off encounter
Willow and Kennedy -eh, maybe. I really don’t care.
I just saw (for you guys) last weeks’ Angel. And it occurs to me that the reason Sunnydale is abandoned is so that they can remain affected by the (admittedly brief) world takeover attempted by Jasmine.
It’s almost a shame, actually…bringing up Jasmine would have been too confusing, but they could touch on some of the weird events going on on Angel–like the sun being blotted out–and it would fit Buffy just fine, since they’re getting all geared up for the apocalypse anyway.
That axe made me very happy.
The Ax, and the bomb made me very happy!
Spike’s speach was really nice, probably the highlight of the episode. A nice, well written, and forthcoming confession of love is always a good way to get the girls to sleep with you… even if the only thing that happens is sleeping.
Buffy’s note: “Gone to fight evil, back before supper! Love, Buffy”
This was a straight-up character episode, and that’s EXACTLY what the show needed. Advancement of the plot would seem forced if these characters weren’t in the right place. Buffy (the character) has been in a slump lately and it was so great to see her finally break out of it. A few notes:

The interaction between Andrew and Spike was just so great. It’s a shame we probably won’t see it again.

I really don’t like Kennedy.

While I’ll always have a special place for Xander, Spike is my new favorite character. His speech to the potentials and crew, his fight with Faith, his words to Buffy…everything. Just a wonderful character. I really hope he makes the move to Angel.

The Mayor! What a great reminder of how cool that character was.

I really dug the fight in the tunnel just because of the use of light. Nice move.

The ending was fantastic. Hope and despair wonderfully meshed together.
Save for the Buffy/Spike scenes that was a fairly weak episode. Hopefully the final two will be strong. Anyway is it just me or was that the axe from Fray?
