Yes. Yes. Yes. Fuck Yes.
AWESOME beginning to the new season. The callbacks to season 1 were fantastic, as there were great jokes in them that negated you needing to have seen the first season to enjoy them. Thank god this got a season two.
the bait and switch with Oscar and George… didn’t see it coming. I just thought they were hinting that Oscar was Buster’s real father the whole episode.
and the great line: “I blue myself.”
I found the continuity from the last episode of Season 1 to this episode was hurt by everyone’s changed appearence… despite them flashing back to it as “1 day earlier.”
(Buster is noticably thinner, Lindsay’s hair and face are different, Michael’s hair as well, and George Michael is losing the baby fat.)
That second, “I blue myself” completely killed me.
Definitely the funniest show on tv right now.
Great episode, though the changes in cast member appearances (as stated by Stuber) was a little distracting at first. The insinuation that Buster might be Oscar’s progeny was made in the first season.
Michael: “There’s got to be a better way of saying that.”
&
GOB: “I’ve got the thingy! Half in English, half in…scribbly.”
classic stuff, been waiting for this all summer.
and the oscar/george bluth switch didn’t occur till they were inside the hospital, he stole anyongs uncle same wig and pretended to be oscar to get the briefcase. so all those other comments about oscar being buster’s dad still hold.
the realty agent is a correspondant on the daily show yes?
I’m pissed. The Fox station here in NYC messed up its programming. Although the station claimed The Simpsons were on at 8 and Arrested Development at 8:30, in actuality Malcom in the Middle came on at 8:00 and then My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss came on afterward. I called several of my friends and their programming was messed up too. I hope this gets reaired.

I missed it last night too.
This morning I went to suprnova.org, and downloaded the episode using BitTornado. Widescreen with 5.1 sound, and the price was right (free!). Can’t beat it.
That’s how I saw most of the first season.
My favorite thing in the episode? Gob as W. I thought that’s where they were going early on during his “I’ve never admitted any mistakes…what would I have to admit to being wrong about?” lines, but then nothing came of it and I thought I had just imagined it. The eventual payoff was fucking gold.

That went right over my head! Brilliant!

Hmm, I’ll try that website. Thanks.
I’m praying this show finally finds its audience this season. From the look of the season premiere, they haven’t missed a beat and the show will continue to be one of the funniest programs on television.
“What was the last thing he said?”
[flashback] “I blue myself”.

that’s how i saw the entire 1st season… and then repaid 'em by purchasing the dvds.
suprnova.org is fantastic.
They were hinting at Oscar being Buster’s father as early as Oscar’s first appearance. If you’ve got the DVDs, note Oscar’s penchant for giving unsolicited backrubs. Also his pride when Buster is “playing” soccer.

I concur.
Yes a hilarious episode. Tobias was on fire in this episode.
But the gag that keeps me chuckling even now, was when Gob had his assistant with him in the board room and he would point to places he would need holes in the wall so he could make a better shot on the pool table.
A great start.

Agreed. I missed it at first, but then when he pointed to the window, I busted out laughing.
Them traveling back and forth to Phoenix was pretty funny, as well.
I was walking my dog this morning by a car lot, and I noticed this weird truck with a big ladder up the back of it. I thought they were filming a car commercial, when I noticed that the ladder had BLUTH written on the side of it. I realized that it was from Arrested Development and they must have been shooting a scene there. I literally whooped out loud, and got embarassed when a couple of PA’s looked my way. I should be used it it by now because they shoot a lot of their marina-based stuff in Marina del Rey…The banana stand is in the “fisherman’s village”…I didn’t get to see any actors though
You really should try to get your picture taken in front of the stair car or “The Big Yellow Joint.”
