Tone is all over the place. Hahn and Plaza are great but I have no faith in D+ at this point. The MCU series have been slightly better than their Star War series, but only slightly, and there’s certainly no MCU equivalent of ANDOR. I
It doesn’t look batshit at all, it just looks like that Sabrina series.
Well I know someone who didn’t watch She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
Which is ironically the last MCU show that I really enjoyed because it was fun as hell. This looks like a lot of fun as well TBH.
Oh I know it doesn’t feature incest and dragons so it’ll be frowned upon by the usual suspects. Oh well!
This show looks fun. D+ shows have been mostly good to great with only Secret Invasion being terrible.

Which, will maybe be enough, for me? I’ve been saying, there’s room for tonal experimentation with these shows, it’s maybe the only reason to do them, even. And this is at least in the ballpark of what I would hope for.

Anyway yeah it does actually look fun. If I remember correctly they had been reshooting the fuck out of it so maybe they finally got it…decent?

But it deliberately looks like it’s taking cues from Sabrina or Wicked. Which, fair enough considering what its prequel series was doing.
Will it be good? At this point it’s a minor miracle if any of these shows comes close to being mildly entertaining. So I’ll probably watch one episode, then drop off because Michael’s bitching is far more entertaining than actually watching the show.
The only thing those shows have in common is that they are both the best of their respective franchise.

Tonally, it seems a mess. Visually, it looks like THE ACOLYTE in terms of using bigger sets rather than just wholly relying on the Volume.
So this is a spin-off from the Scarlet Witch spin-off?

This is like .01 percent spooky stuff.
The wife and I had good fun with the first two episodes of this. The (almost) episode long riff on MARE OF EASTTOWN was a spot on parody. The second episode focusing on recruiting other witches for ‘the road’ was fun and well paced. Loved the big song too.
I was smiling the whole episode. Thumbs up, I guess!

My wife just correctly pointed out that that Witches Road song will be all over the Oogie Boogie Bash and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties.
I never watched Mare of Easttown, but I did cackle when she basically goes ‘THESE ARE THE TROPES FOR THESE KINDS OF MYSTERY SHOWS.’
Im glad to hear this might be good. I really liked most of Wandavision…MOST. If I keep hearing good things I shall binge.
