A Good TV Intro sets the mood for a show. Preferably with a catchy Theme song accompaning it. There were a lot of great TV Intros in the 80’s (e.g Magnum PI, Quantum Leap). But its a dying art right now.

For some reason I can rememebr the theme to pretty much every TV show I have ever seen.
Which is great at parties but compleatly useless for anything else.

Here’s a show that needs to be remade, don’t skimp on the superb intro.
My favorite openers are Star Trek, The A-Team, Glen A Larson’s Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers In The 25th Century, and Knight Rider.

Here’s a memorable intro for your post:
X-Files, Battlestar Galactica, and Lost because they don’t really have one. I tend to despise the intro.

I was close to posting the Buck Rogers one also, mostly because the ultra-hot Connie Sellecca was married to Buck (Gil Gerard) in real life (at the time the shows were on the air).

If the Star Trek II series had gone forward in the 70s, THAT would have been the opening. I just know it.
I can’t really link because I’m on a work computer but this thread does not continue without mentioning all of the The Wire intros and the old Homicide: Life on the Street intro.

What are you talking about? BSG has FOUR! The opening text, then a cold open, then the credits, THEN the “flash forward” montage!
Always loved the opening to the second season of The Munsters – the thunderous surf rock quitar and Fred Gwynne smashing through the door. Buck Rogers was great, especially for the William Conrad narration. The tijano music filled first season to Simon & Simon.
Batman Beyond.
Mainly because the animated rave sequence always makes me lolol.
