Gary Cole, the paralyzed dude from “Remember The Titans,” and Spanish Phil Hartman ("The machine is still on, Moira"
team up to track down 100 of Los Angeles’ most (you guessed it) WANTED criminals.
It ain’t bad, pretty predictable but often clever. You can tell they’re having fun.
The paralyzed dude from Remember the Titans is Ryan Hurst. He also played the deaf paratrooper in Saving Private Ryan and is the son of actor Rick Hurst, best known for playing Deputy Cletus on The Dukes of Hazzard.
Yeah, I KNOW that. That’s just what I remember him as, man.
Now, Spanish Phil Hartman, I can not for the life of me remember that dude’s name.

I’m more hyped for “Over There” but “Wanted” is another one I’m looking forward to. I’m not expecting “The Shield” but I’m hoping it can stand out from all the plain cop shows. Cole is a good actor, always liked him in A SIMPLE PLAN. How was Lee Tergensen in this? I would imagine he’s a lot different in this than he was on his short “Rescue Me” stint?
Joaquim De Almeida is the Spanish Phil Hartman. I didn’t know he was on this show so that’s a nice surprise. He was a much better bad guy for the DESPERADO than Dafoe.
Was that a fat-ass Josey Scott I saw in the comercial for this?

It’s way different from “Shield,” gritty but also pretty fun. More entertaining than anything.
Tergensen’s in the second ep, which I have yet to see.

I always call him “Bucho” because of his role in Desperado.

EDIT: Waitaminute…it IS this Gary Cole! I just got supremely confused as to which actor you were talking about…I’ll chalk this one up to me just having gotten out of bed.
Anybody else catch this? I liked the approach the show was taking but it didn’t seem to go as far with the mayhem that some of the reviews led me to believe would be going on. The family problems with Cole’s character seemed a bit generic. Those last 10 minutes were pretty good between that final shotgun blast and one of the squad members biting the dust. Next week should be interesting with Tergensen coming on board. I hope De Almeida does more on the show than just the strict boss routine.
Not Shield-level greatness but they have my attention. Some of the acting was a bit iffy, though. I’m hoping everyone falls into their respective roles as the season wears on. The Bible beater was trying a little too hard. Tommy was fucking annoying. He seemed to be sleepwalking during some of it. The last 10-15 minutes was great. I was hoping Tommy would bite the dust, not Joe. Oh well, at least we get Tergensen to fill his shoes.

Caught the show and it earned a “tape the season” status on the ol’ DVR, so we’ll see how it pans out.
I found it out with Gary Cole playing a tough guy, since I like his comedies work better (the man owned Office Space). The one thing that bugged me about his character was his relationship with his family. I just didn’t buy any feelings towards his kids and his wife was the so typical “bitter cop wife” that it was laughable.
I liked the balls of killing off a team member first show, but had hoped for someone else. Also, I enjoyed the religious guys character. The fact that the he is a 30-something virgin, bible-spouting, ass-kicking, uber-tough guy was pretty cool. Plus he dropped the line “Touch me again and I’ll remove your tampon”.
I’m not a big fan of cop dramas, but this task squad kind of mentality has me hooked. I’ll try to catch the next episode and see if it reels me in for the season.
I liked it alright.
I could do without the quick motion editing, or speed ups or whatever.
Bill Lumbergh does a pretty good job as a Treat Williams wannabe.
That chic from the first Stella is hot.
Wasn’t there a show on Fox just like this though a couple years ago, where they killed Micheal Biehn in the pilot, then brought in that guy from The Mummy, and since everyone loved William Forsythe as a bad guy they then had him join the team? I got tired of that show fast, and I didn’t like Jon Seda in it as the stereotypical hotshot.
I agree with everything that has been said.
Gary Cole surprised me because he really did a pretty good job of making me believe he was another character and not just Bill Lumberg or for the Adult Swim fans out there Harvey Birdman attorney at law.
I actually thought this was pretty fantastic. It was entertaining from beginning to end. The bible thumper ATF guy was pretty bad ass. That drug dealer’s gf was muy calor.
Overall, a nice R-rated action drama series that so far is being done right.
Cole was channeling a bit of Mark Harmon-NCIS leadership skills, which means I liked him instantly. Hell, I liked “Midnight Caller” or whatever that show was called, so I was already going to give him the benefit of the doubt here.
The speed-up motion stuff is just another gimmick, like CSI’s flash b&w photography montage, which means it’ll get old after about four episodes. Also, wasn’t this the plot to Time Trax? 100 wanted criminals, got to hunt them down…
I’ll watch it next week.

Time Trax reference!!! Yea it was kinda similar, except Time Trax was more of a Time Cop rip off involving a cool gun that blasted criminals back into the future!!!
does anybody happen to know the name of the song played at the end of the first episode (as they were wheeling the bald guy into the morgue)???
