Going into this season spoiler free. (So if you know things and are going to discuss them, please put them in SPOILER tags. I’d appreciate it.)
Friends tell me that it’s going to be an interesting season and some fans of the show may not come out very satisfied.
Time will tell.
Five minutes in and I already want to boot the tv.
Time to cheer the SOX.
I saw the finale on Bravo and now this. This show was much better when it wasn’t trying to mirror current events/current administration. They should try to be subtle.

I agree, but they’ve boxed themselves into a corner. Lets see if or how they get out of it.
This show isn’t worth watching anymore. I’m baffled as to why some people have stuck with it (or even more frightening, jumped on board).

The acting. That’s why I’ve stuck with it. And some storylines have been decent.
Again, we’ll see.
I agree that the acting is what has kept me hooked on this show. I really liked last night. It doesn’t sound slike many people did though. I think it will be interesting to see how they come out of this.
There was a lot of high tension last night, which made it feel more like a season finale than a season premiere.
It did really begin to pick up in the last 15 minutes, though.

Are they joking? The West Wing was like Law and Order whenever i flipped it on-ripped from the headlines. The season 6 premire was a comment on the current Bush attack 1st policy.

Give me a break. The only minority cast member was Bartlett’s side man and the women while strong were not in any position of power or influence to the President. The cas was not idealistic. It was the norm.
If they continue the show they should elect a Republican President or there is no point to continue. You’ll have done all the same stories already with no new point of view.
If they go through with what the on-air promos are implying, I’m going to be unhappy. Very very unhappy.
So when exactly did Sorkin leave causing the show to go down the crapper? I’m going through season one via Netflix, and would love to know when to stop before… you know, my memory of the show gets tainted.
Season Four was the last Sorkin season.
This season requires someone watching with a hint of ADD. So many details to pay attention to. I used to be able to do other stuff while the show was on. Now I have to sit alone in the room without any distractions.
This week is much better than last, though.

Damn, that was one hardcore heartattack that Leo took. Intense.
But you’ve got to be kidding me that nobody found Leo. It’s Camp David for christsakes. Surely there are patrols that scout the area for outsiders.
And I thought cellphone reception sucked? Bit of irony, I guess.

Oh, and they keep showing this quick bumpers of Bartlet with Smits and Alda. They aren’t even on the show yet. A little annoying, IMO.

Good episode though.
I caught the last few minutes(after watching The O.C. on DVD!!!) and Leo is in the woods with a heart attack and nobody notices? Wow that’s bad. The Secret Sevice let his kid get kidnapped, an agent shot in a 7-11 because he didn’t secure the scene, Bartlett shot, and now no security at Camp David. Unless Leo dies this is pointless.
And the Middle East is almost solved. This is turning to a sci fi sow.
If you’d watched anything more than a few minutes of the show you’d know that the Middle East solution is far from solved, and their “Solution” was what led to Leo’s heart attack.
Last night’s installment was a little too all over the place.
But it had some very good moments.
Next week should prove interesting with CJ’s Promotion, Tobys resignation and Jimmy Smits arriving.
Leo picking CJ is kinda baffling, especially considering some of the moments he and Josh have shared (“it’s what sons do for old friends of their father’s,” “as long as I have a job you have a job,” "I’ve been down this hole before and I know the way out"
. Plus, as someone over at Television Without Pity noted, during the “flash-forward” episode last year where they did the PBS documentary thing, CJ mentions being the first 8-year press secretary. No mention of being Chief of Staff. So I don’t think it happens.

Oh no, I’m 99% sure that it does. They are just forgetting all about continuity with that one episode.
As for Leo picking CJ, they were starting to get at each other’s throats last season, and I think Leo realized that CJ would be strong enough to take on the position.
The episode itself was amazing in terms of what we had to sit through for the finale and the opener.
When Josh storms into CJs office and throws the tray of donuts on CJs desk, I explode in laughter each time I play it back.
